Re: Hamclock RPi project on Joggler? - FIXED

Liking this, yes, more detail please! On my list of things to do with a Joggler is to take the data from the FlightAware setup in the loft and display it. In all honesty it should be trivial to achieve given there's a map interface in SkyAware. I recently discovered that Apple's HomeKit supports iss...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame

This is great; I've not used LMS for quite some time now, but I'm really pleased it can be brought up to the newest version. Kudos to the LMS team for keeping the 32-bit versions ticking and to @Man in a van for keeping everyone informed! Given the extended support for Ubuntu 18.04 through to 2028 i...

Re: Linux program on Joggler

Don't rely on the original OS, it's so old and tailored (restricted) you'll not be able to run much without a lot of hard work.

Use this instead. You'll be able to build anything you want on the back of this "blank" Ubuntu OS.

Re: Updating SqueezePlay ... I don't get it

There is new firmware for Squeezebox Touch and Controller that resolves a few things and now support in LMS for installing that firmware. Oh, that's cool. I wonder if this old Squeezebox behind me has any community firmware. The 23 day issue, although in a different guise, is one issue that has bee...

Re: Updating SqueezePlay ... I don't get it

The only reasons to worry about updating really are security and compatibility. So long as you're not exposing that Joggler directly to the internet you're probably fine on the first one. I've not kept my eye on the ball with regards to SqueezePlay or LMS recently, but others seem to be having succe...

Re: BBC Microcomputers

I've only ever used a BBC at school and a couple of times on the Doomsday Laser disc set up that they had , it was sort of the internet before it existed . A friend of mine, who I've not seen in many years, was the UK side of the CAMiLEON project which first read the data from those laserdiscs. Got...

If only I could sort out the darn audio switching issue on recent kernels, but every time I go to look at it there's a new release and ALSA has changed again!

BBC Microcomputers

Hey everyone, Apologies that I've not done so much with the OpenFrames as I would have liked recently, but I've been rediscovering my old pal, the 8-bit BBC Micro! What is now my Model B was bought new back in 1982(ish) by my Dad. While searching for bits and pieces for it, I developed a habit of ta...

Re: SqueezePlay for OpenFrame

Is there any way to use the joggler with the spotty plugging literally just to control playback on a pc? (instead of playing on the joggler itself?) Yes, I think I've done this in the past... IIRC it works in the same way as remote controlling any Spotify client from another... I remember clicking ...

Interesting. I'll take a look at that on my OF2.

That's the reflash system /boot you're looking at in Windows, it doesn't exist on there. It's only on the payload.

Re: What can i still do with a joggler?

What does using spoify look like using Squeeze OS and is the version in the thread post 1 that is linkled above still the most current version? I used to use Spotify with the Spotty (?) plugin for Logitech Media Server, it worked very well. You used the on-screen keyboard to search for songs or pla...

Re: What can i still do with a joggler?

Most uses I know about are running Squeezeplay (still very popular) or displaying home automation control panels through a web browser. I really must add an easy-installer for Chrome without a desktop at some point, it works very well. They also work brilliantly for displaying graphs and general mon...

Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame

How do you like the dashboard for Hubitat on the Openframe? Barely had chance to do anything with it to be honest. By default it's a bit clunky, but some recent third-party updates have started to bring it to life. I love the Maker API on Hubitat though. It is so fast and easy to use, just send a H...
