Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
Hi Holmes I have not attempted to run Squeezebox Server using the Ubuntu image on a hard drive. I am, however, running the server on the Joggler's native OS. The set-up is stable and serves three squeezebox devices and Squeezeplay on the Joggler with no problems. The music library is in excess of 50...

Re: Changing Default SSH Password for letmeinssh.
:D :D :D roobarb! You have cracked it. I entered the command you suggested: cat /etc/passwd and I was then able to see the content of the file. My attempts to change the user name and password were visible and I could see the differences between them and the entry for the default user letmeinssh. I ...

Re: Changing Default SSH Password for letmeinssh.
That's odd. So far as I know, /etc/passwd is definitely the place those details should live. Which method did you use to enable SSH? Hi roobarb! According to my file records on 31/01/2011 I downloaded the file 'joggler_enable_ssh_v0.1.zip' from the site http://birdslikewires.co.uk/articles/squeezep...

Re: Changing Default SSH Password for letmeinssh.
Hi I notice that the wiki http://www.jogglerwiki.com/wiki/Ssh has been updated since I posted my original question. I have used vi to check /etc/password and /etc/shadow. There are no entries in either for any user. Can any forum member advise where passwords are stored in the native O2 operating sy...

Re: Changing Default SSH Password for letmeinssh.
by roobarb! » Mon Apr 04, 2011 9:19 am A quick and easy way to set your own username and password, once SSH is installed, is: Code: Select all echo "joggler:`cryptpw password`:0:0:Joggler:/:/bin/sh" >> /etc/passwd Where 'joggler' is the username, 'password' is the password and 'Joggler' i...

Changing Default SSH Password for letmeinssh.
Hi I am trying to change the default password for letmeinssh as recommended in the wiki at: http://www.jogglerwiki.com/wiki/Ssh In the command line I enter and experience this. The password update fails. #passwd letmeinssh passwd: no record of letmeinssh in /etc/shadow, using /etc/passwd Changing pa...

Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
Hi I now have more information on the size of music library that can be catalogued on a joggler for the use of SqueezeServer. I attached a hard drive with a 32 Gb FAT32 partition. The partition was completely filled with mp3 tracks. These tracks were all correctly tagged and stored in album folders ...

Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
by holmes » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:25 pm Hi, I was planning to buy a Joggler and am worried by Regor's comment. Has someone really managed to run SBS on a Joggler with a significant music library (around 500 albums)? Does the Joggler really have (CPU + memory) the muscles to handle this ? Thanks. Hi An...

:?: :?: :?: Hi All I now have Squeezebox Server and SqueezePlay installed on the Joggler with the standard O2 apps. Re: Program cannot write to usb drive.
Is there nowhere you can safely save the file on the Joggler itself, then use SCP to copy the file to another computer, then delete it from the Joggler? I'm not sure if it would work but it might be worth a try. Hi gegs I have decided to give up the quest to save files from the Joggler to an attach...

Re: Program cannot write to usb drive.
by gegs » Wed Mar 16, 2011 11:13 am If you can't save directly to a USB drive, you can use WinSCP (not sure of any Mac equivalents) to copy the file to your computer hard drive. The following page tells you how to install SCP on the Joggler. You must have SSH installed first but you already have if...

by gegs » Wed Mar 16, 2011 12:23 am Hi Regor, Rather than start a new topic, it might be a good idea to put this under the 'Squeezebox Server issues' topic. People with an answer to your question are more likely to be reading those posts. Hi gegs Thank you for your prompt reply. I take on board you...

Program cannot write to usb drive.
Hi I am trying to get a program running on the native Joggler to save a file to an attached usb pen drive. The write is attempted but fails. The attempt is recorded in the Program's log. The Program can read files from the drive. Has any forum user experienced this problem and have a solution they c...

Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
The read only stuff was a red-herring. Basically the gforums startup script for the squeezebox server occurs at a point before the USB has been mounted, this results in the scan (either forced via the CLI or automatic) finding no files and therefore emptying the list of albums/artists etc. I rememb...

Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
by spoyser » Sun Mar 13, 2011 6:29 pm Okay, found a quick fix for this issue now. When the server starts up, currently there is also (always) a forced rescan performed, the problem it seems is that when this rescan is performed the USB hasn't been mounted and therefore you end up with an empty list...
