Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Thanks for rom... Is there any small wiki how to fit it inside joggler flash ? Or maybe someone who has already done it can explain it in few words... Everything has been described earlier on in this thread. Feel free to write a wiki page. I don't think anyone has bothered yet because it's so unfin...

Is there Coreboot and SeaBIOS somewhere available for download ?
And it works stable with windows xp ?
It's only stable on XP when booting from PATA. I'm nearing the point where my life is clear enough to work on it again soon...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Just to let you guys know, I haven't forgotten about this project. I've got a whole bunch more code which needs finishing off and making into a release, hoping this will fix some of the current problems. I have spotted a major problem with my ACPI FADT table which I'm seriously hoping was the cause ...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Am baffled by this truly mad melting method. How is it that things aren't heat damaged? How do you think they get the connector on there? With a soldering iron? :P All electronic components have to be able to withstand temperatures of 300+ C for at least 45 seconds or so, as that's what they do at ...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Sorry to ask a stupid question, but is there a walk-through or anything on getting win7 or 8 up yet? I have a few joggers and would like to give it a try. Again my apologies There isn't much point in a walkthrough at present because my SeaBIOS for Joggler isn't stable enough. Still working on it...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
I have tried about 6 different Android install disks and every one of them turns off the usb just as it's going to detecting Android and the screen goes fuzzy and it hangs. Thing is I'm pretty sure I got an android live cd to boot and run once, but not anymore. Sorry Mick! until I get to the bottom...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
The Windows 8 audio HW seems to be detected and a generic audio device driver installed. Speakers work (with some digital fizz) but the headphone socket doesn't output anything for me. The old XP audio driver that we have used before - the one that enables both the speakers AND headphones at the sa...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
I used an Antec 25 watt iron with a tapered to a point tip, still get bridges across contacts but just use copper solder braid to remove them Weller WTCP (I prefer the US/Australian version) is the iron for real engineers ;-) A good way to reduce bridging is to use liquid flux. I used to use Electr...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
I could use another PATA joggler too, I ordered another 10 connectors more than a month ago, no sign of them yet. Also going to buy a 32GB for Win7 experimentation. 16B too darn small! Going to use the 16GB for this project: http://www.jogglerwiki.com/wiki/Using_large_LCD_panels_on_the_Joggler which...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Inaxeon, I'll take a couple of FWH chips if you feel like posting them to the US here? I have a backup of every version of code posted so far. The assumption will be the same link eh; should it be updated? That link I posted is a RAR of the source code, it's 60 megabytes in size, not the same link.

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Inaxeon, i hope your anxiety at posting your code in the seaBIOS community passes. We all think it's great work, whatever they might say. :P Speaking of code, can at least one person make a backup of the current code. It's here: [Removed] Let me know when you have and I'll remove that link. Don't r...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
It's going to be a while before I figure out this USB hang problem. I've just noticed that Coreboot has no SMM (System Management Mode) support for US15W. Surprise surprise, US15W has always been "half implemented" at best. So I've got to write this code now. I don't really have much of a ...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Thanks guys. Yes; inaxeon; on the initial seabios boot screen it saids F7 to update bios and F16 for boot menu. It used to say F7 and F12 on previous version 0.5. This is with Version 0.6 of the Seabios. Downloaded and installed most current from original link. Still the same on the boot F7 and F16...

You can't run the Mevi build as is, replace NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM with the original copies. Might also pay to replace VGA.SYS too.

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
The USB is supposed to turn off. "Feature" of Windows. It's the turning back on that's the hard part. My testing also shows that this build works good off PATA. Tempted to quit while I'm ahead :P But yeah, that hang after the USB powers down is now my top priority. More annoyingly, WinDbg ...

Re: Joggler pi
it wouldn't be that bad. I assume you at least know which end of the soldering iron is hot? :P You'd just have to find out how to set the LVDS output mode on that board (I'm sure it comes with a manual), then you've got to make up an X.Org modeline for the Joggler's panel, that should be it (I think...

Oh yeah, I misunderstood. But apparently they had to abort, and concoct this rather ugly contraption instea...
