The effect might be different between not resolving a host name and not connecting to a host.

Mine crashes out after a few seconds and yours hasn’t at all … so even if a couple of glitches I don’t think we are facing the same issue.

I’ll experiment with other LMS settings that I might have tweaked long ago.

I have a suspicion that it is not crashing for me when I play stations using MP3.

One big difference then ... I have added that station into RNP ... so when it plays here there are also track titles and cover art. However, other stations that RNP provides info for do work. I thought I would give Bookworm a try. I downloaded it a few days ago and had problems with it being very very slow (over an hour to install SqueezzePlay). If getting a complaint about unsupported sample rate then turn on hiding of it in the plugin.

It could probably be done ... but another approach is to run JiveLite rather than SqueezePlay and install/run Squeezelite if you want a local player (others have done that).

Took a few attempts to get it to boot - almost like it needed warming up - which I found strange.

You might be getting an error something like ... sample rate not supported.
If so then there is a solution that I half remember having had it myself ... and I'm certain it is documented here somewhere.
I think it is a setting in BBC Sounds plugin to hide sample rate.

Plus - if you want to have local music as well then move the LMS cache onto a folder near the music (off the Joggler internal storage) because the LMS database will eat up your space.
