Free for collection
Hi Folks, I was recently given a dead Joggler and with a lot of help from your forum managed to get "limited joy" with Ubunto. I had a lot of help from Hawsey and he suggested that, if I decided to get rid of it you folks might be able to use it. Unfortunately Hawsey lives too far away to ...

Getting an internet connection will keep me occupied for a while. As for my "Thermal Throttling Point" - don't ask personal questions, we hardly know each other!!

Re: Dead?? Joggler
The Win 32 Disk Imager program was a newer version (0.9.5) than Hawsey's So I stuck with mine. I have run out of spare USB keys so I took a step back and re-tried the download of the XUBUBTU 14.04 LTS which "sort of" worked last time. It loaded OK and seems to be more responsive than last ...

Re: Dead?? Joggler
Hi Hawsey, The programs you sent the link for are the ones I am using and the programs I am writing to the USB stick are .img files. However, the Win32 disk imager is a slightly different version to the one I have been using so I will try it tomorrow.
Thanks again, Malc.

Re: Dead?? Joggler
I'm back again fellows! after a day of brain rest I decided to try for one of the Android images as suggested by Hawsey. I downloaded Joggler-android-KitKat 2014-04-02.img.gz, extracted it, wrote it to 2 different USB keys (both of which I formatted first), AND.........exactly the same results as be...

Re: Dead?? Joggler
I've had a look at the file extensions via the "Properties" box as suggested and the extensions are unchanged. I have also re-formatted the USB sticks, repeated the process of writing the reflash programs and copying the files into the rfi-boot a couple more times but I still get the messa...

Re: Dead?? Joggler
I have checked the USB stick and the files are present in the "Flashing" folder on the rfl-boot and their extensions are exactly as copied i.e: .img.gz and .img.gz.mb5

Re: Dead?? Joggler
Just to update - I have now written the extracted .img file to 2 different formatted USB sticks, then copied both the .img.gz and .img.gz.md5 into the "Flashing" folder of the rfl-boot. I have tried writing the images both with and without the "MD5 hash" ticked (Win32 Disc Imager...

Re: Dead?? Joggler
At the moment I am still playing at trying to bring the Joggler back to life. As I get more into it all your info will make more sense to me and be very helpful. I have a few USB sticks around, but If I format them and write images to them can I reuse them as normal memory sticks again? Once again, ...

Re: Dead?? Joggler
Yes I have booted into Xubuntu, what is an "xbmc"? Now, just when I thought I was winning, I pressed and held one of the icons and they have all disappeared, no amount of screen tapping or swiping seems to help. When the icons are present they don't seem to do anything. (I have not yet tou...

Re: Dead?? Joggler
Have followed your instructions and the Joggler has now booted up from the USB stick. I presently have a blue screen with a central "Triangular dog" image. (Doesn't seem to be a way of uploading pictures here)! I have also switched off and rebooted from the USB for a second time OK. The sc...

Hi Karlek,
Downloaded Ubuntu 14.04.2 (32 bit version) from the web, copied to USB stick, inserted USB stick into Joggler and powered up but exactly the same result as previously.

Re: Dead?? Joggler
Karlek,
Thanks for the quick reply. I will have a search for a download of Ubuntu and give it a try. I am no expert so I'm afraid I didn't understand your comment about the reflash stick. Will keep you posted!
Thanks,
Malc.

Dead?? Joggler
Hi folks, I have been given a Joggler (I'd never heard of them before!) However it seems to be dead. When turned on a patchy looking screen appears with the O2 logo, after about ten minutes the screen seems to recover and goes an all over colour, still blank and still with the O2 logo. I have left i...
