Sorry, I was mistaken. Apparently the wireless connection I had set up was no longer working and the connection icon disappeared from the task bar near the clock. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the network to "take." I suspect some kind of corruption during a "reboot." I ...

Since I recall Mint is Ubuntu based (I think), your idea of going with the base and installing Mate over the top may be a good way to go. If I try that out, I'll post my results (but it may be a while). Using Maya would be fine for me except the only drawback appears the repository is no longer supp...

Thank you, that did it. I now get the Mint desktop and wow... that's pretty nice. Greetings, Absolute noob here. I obtained an OpenPeak OpenFrame 2.0 device, surplus from work. It works but I'd like to do a bit more with it. I downloaded the Linux Mint for Joggler (ext4 version). I verified the checksum and put the image onto a 4G USB drive using dd. I plugged it in and re-applie...
