All I can say is that ickStream and Squeezeplay seem to register okay without the patch. The API reference is to what the ickStream developers suggest should be done at the Joggler Squeezeplay end by Roobarb I don't use 7.9 so I can't check what it gives as device type. I do no mind roobarb! revert...
