In order for me to get Windows XP to boot, I have to make a new image! Then when the joggler turns on, windows installs the drivers and request's a reboot which it doesn't get past the Openpeak logo on? The only thing that has changed since this has started happening is i've soldered a usb cable onto the mobo?

EDIT: The internal flash works fine, boots straight into that. Maybe I have a defective USB stick? Although this problem has only happened since I installed the USB cable :(

Does this only happen when you boot off the new soldered USB cable? Can you repeat the process successfully when booting on the side port, for example. It doesnt sound to me like a fault of your soldering OR the stick you're using as you get a first boot. I'm thinking that this is a USB controller driver thing. Does it boot with the Ethernet cable disconnected?just an idea. This is something that cropped up for some people.

I've never soldered an extra USB lead (attempted once, but my skillz are not great) so I can't say from experience whether XP is bootable on anything but the factory USB ports or port 4 on a hub attached to them. Which pins on the board did you solder to?

Are you using my XP build? I shortsightedly hid the EFI boot text in the final build, so you might want to edit the .sh files to remove the '> 1.txt' on each of the lines. That will unhide the boot and might shed some light on your problem.

Yeah using your version of XP mate. It's stopped booting into the Stock OS now, so i'm going to try reflashing it. Loads the OPENPEAK logo, screen turns brighter, black screen as if it's going into the OS then it reboots :( Fingers crossed it's not bricked, other wise it's going out the window :(

Perhaps just needs reflashing to restore the factory OS. Let us know how you get on.

Personally I did similiar soldering a new USB port inside of the Joggler. It would not boot XP from the new USB port. Instead I just cut off the end of the WLAN stick and soldered the USB wires to it. I then used the USB port where the WLAN stick was and it now boots XP just fine. Its a bit of a tight fit and gets a bit warm but works fine.
