O2 Joggler Forum

I have just got a joggler and know not alot about it....

I have turned it on and there is no update installed? also nothing showing in software updates.....

I put some pictures on a USB, plugged it in and nothing just blank....

Not happy with it at all and really don't know what to do....

so far all it's good for is seeing the time and date.......


PLEASE HELP!!

also I have been reading posts and nothing makes sense to me, i don't understand any of it!!

think I might just sell it as it seems too much hassle!

Don't worry Vicky, you're not the first newbie passing by the forum.... not since O2 handed over their customer support to us.

I've not used the factory OS much so I can't offer an answer for your photo problem. Did you get it without a user's manual? I think I've still got one in it's box if you need it. The update you mentioned will make most of the O2 apps disappear, anyway.

Have a look at the first post in the PnP III thread. Just ask if there's anything you don't understand.

Does it display mainly blue icons or more colourful ones?

I have the blue one, I suppose it is the O2 version.I want to update to pnp III, used o2 update tool, then formated usb stick and then copied files to usb,put in joggler,reboot but nothing happens

If you have not had the update on your joggler then you just have to make up your usb stick as per the instructions plug it in to your powered off joggler , power up then wait and wait and wait , I would go make a cuppa then come back in 30 mins , hopefully you will be greeted with a PNPIII joggler .
If that's no good the easiest way is to reflash your joggler with Roobarbs reflash tool then re boot .
Then flash with the PNPIII stick after that .

I don't know if my joggler had an update,as I bought it from ebay used.When I checked firm version it was dated 2010,so I assume it is not up to date. I tried flashing with flashing tool,then it shut down then copied pnp files in a usb stick and nothing happened after rebooting.In instrustions say that if I want to install new os I have to paste some files in reflash folder but in pnp instructions say that I have to use flash tool to check if clean then install using pnp files..I am confused:(

So it looks like you have a pre update joggler which should be good in your case because it should be easier to update to PNP III .
You dont need to reflash it .
Get another clean usb stick if you have one and make up a new PNPIII stick as per the instructions in the first post of that thread http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=2&t=555 ;
Stick it in to the usb port of your joggler then switch it on , it looks like its doing nothing but it is ; wait for at least 35 mins before going back to it .

yeah, if it looks 'clean' already, just unzip the pnp files to a usb, stick it in, boot up and leave it for a bit. It'll look like nothing is happening but eventually you'll have a pretty and useful bit of kit. I prefer this to android and linux too but each to their own!

Thank you all for your reply.I formated a new usb stick and copied pnp files in the root if the stick,then placed it in the joggler.After reboot it goes as always to the first screen with the blue icons.I waited for almost an hour and still nothing change. What is openpeak flash and what is roobarb flash? When i installed roobarb flash and rebooted joggler, some messages appeared and then joggler shut down.I now I am completely noob,please stay with me and help...

Are you unzipping the pnpIII files first before putting them on to a clean formatted USB stick?

If so and it still wont work I would reflash using Roobarbs reflash tool taking care to follow the instructions regarding downloading the openpeak image and the reflash script and puttinng them in the reflash directory.
After your joggler is reflashed to factory state with this tool then you can do the PNPIII process again.
It sounds complicated but you will get there in the end I am sure.

ok followed simple instructions and installed ok.It seem to be usb issue,as I finally used a 512 mb stick,instead of the 8gb one I have.Also instead of unzipping zip file in pc and then paste in the stick,I unzipped directly in usb drive.Maybe some files did not paste?Thank you for the help

Yeah, some people do report fussy Jogglers when it comes to USB sticks! Nice one for sticking with it. How are you finding PnP III?

I am from Cyprus and I didn't like O2 apps and internet radio was too uk for me.I tried using android but it was too slow for my needs,propably usb issue again.Updating to pnp is great,much more apps and games,internet radio seems great...thanks for staying with me!
