O2 Joggler Forum

Not sure if anyone is around here any more... been years and years since i used my jogglers but just pulled two out from under the stairs and thought I would tidy them up before seeing if there is a new home for them to go to.

One seems fine but the other is stuck on the O2 logo.
I have tried the reflashing tool with no luck... it will boot via USB though so there is hope perhaps
I even got it to boot @roobarb!s debian images and could ssh in (wired... could not get wifi working yet but that may be my misconfiguring something.. it always used to work fine.. )

the reflash tool seems to work but i see an error about "out of space" or something.. it reboots as expected but no change

is there a manual way to see and perhaps erase/repartition the mmc from debian?
I briefly looked on fdisk but nothing was apparent... sda was the only thing i saw and that was the USB
i saw some old posts about removing the mmc partition info with gparted in mint so perhaps there is a command line option?

anyway... at least the forums will have a new post if nothing else

Maybe that's good enough, both working but one from the USB stick.
Good that you are going to keep them going and not junk them

Hopefully I can find someone that can make good use of them for some time yet.
They seem to still sell on ebay.

Great for a dedicated device for monitoring things.. maybe a home automation control panel
perhaps for adguard home or even a little wireguard server as it has a gigabit interface (I run both on a Pi2 and that is plenty of power).. control panel for digital audio workstation via web

Home automation panel is a great use. One of mine is an MQTT broker too, while showing information screens from the TRMNL service.

I wouldn't worry too much about the internal memory. It was rubbish anyway. I've taken units out of storage that were working perfectly, only to find the MMC dead. Sometimes they take a new flash, sometimes they don't. You need more than that 1GB to do much of anything interesting anyway, plus there's always the internal USB port if you don't need WiFi. Or want to add cellular.
