Debian Trixie (TESTING) for OpenFrame (Kernel 6.12)
Operating System Patches / Kernel Patches / Build Log

Another release! Keep on Joggling!
WATCH OUT: THIS IS A TESTING RELEASE AND MAY BREAK AT ANY MOMENT. IT MAY BE BROKEN RIGHT NOW.
Found some time to resurrect my kitchen cabinet OpenFrame (a broken ethernet cable kept it out of action for... quite a while) and in the process got lost down the rabbit hole of why kernel 6.12 wouldn't compile for us, as this may be the version adopted for Debian Trixie. Turns out the backlight driver needed some tweaks, but once that was done and the patches were tidied, and a new build environment whisked up, we were back up and running.
Debian Trixie hasn't been released yet and this is all very beta. There are plenty of warning messages, but I'm not going to work on fixing anything until Trixie is actually finalised and released. This is purely for the curious.
You may also have read that Trixie doesn't support 32-bit, which is only partially true. They're still producing 32-bit packages, but i686 processors with the NOPL instruction are now a minimum requirement. There's also some oddness about not shipping a 32-bit kernel, which would be rather a barrier to some folk using Trixie, but we're building our own anyway so this doesn't matter.
Enjoy!
