Trying not to make this sound like an advert

I was intrigued by these speakers after reading this review last year:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/soundscie ... dio_review

I thought they'd make a perfect accompaniment to the joggler as they only require one USB lead for power and audio, but I wasn't prepared to pay nearly £90 for them.

Picked them up just before Christmas for just under £50, and I can say at that price they are decent value. They worked out of the box with Squeezeplay on Buzz's Xubuntu.

It looks like they are getting difficult to get hold of but thought that letting people know that they worked would be useful information for the forum.

They are usually always available at 49.99.. looks like advancedmp3players.co.uk have bumped prices up but are using vouchers to restore the price but squeeze the not-savvy out of their hard earned. http://www.myvouchercodes.co.uk/codes/5 ... ers/691742

Thought I'd give a mini-review while no one else has chimed in. I'm currently using them with my main ubuntu pc. I've mainly only listened to them in the background so this isn't definitive. The speakers are currently placed in the corner of an approx. 6 x 3 m room. Volume nearly always has to be above 50% to get a decent sound/volume out of them, but they are capable of filling this size room without any noticeable strain. However, understandably given their size and power, they aren't for bass heads. They produce some really crisp-sounding treble/timbres: I've been milling about the room not taken any particular notice and then had my head turned by how good these can sound at times, with a decent amount of detail. They are a vast improvement on the Logic3 SB330 speakers that I usually have attached to my Jogglers and are an acceptable alternative while my main entry-level separates system is currently boxed up.
