Guys

Am new to hacking/modding the Joggler.
My joggler has been used by my kids for games a lot. It now doesnt boot at all. Apart from booting this with another chip from another working device is there any other way ?

If the only way is another working device, how will I get one, without having to fork out for another piece.

Any help please. Hate to see this lovely piece of kit go to waste.

welcome to the forum. There's instructions here on the forum if you do a search, but to save you trouble, go to:

http://birdslikewires.co.uk/articles/jogglerflash

That will restore your Joggler to factory fresh. As your Joggler boots from a usb stick, you should be ok without a hub & keyboard as the process is automated.

reading your post again - when you said another chip, I can see you meant the EFI chip swap. Not sure that would work, but have a go with the link above first and let us know. We'll help out however we can. It's pretty common problem and the reason why the 'faulty' ones on eBay still go for a good price.

if you can't boot as described in the birdslikewires article, you can use an efi firmware chip from a working joggler, and then hot swap/reflash. I've done this myself (as the efi was corrupted and crashed at poweron)

I have a job lot of 3 customer return Jogglers on the way. I expect to have to do this 3 times. :)

On ebay. I paid £65+£8 postage for the 3 of them without PSUs, cables or box. There's another lot of 3 on ebay with 2 days to go. Listed as faulty customer returns, they're the 3rd lot that he's listed.
