SqueezePlay OS for android?

I've been using a Joggler flashed with the fantastic SqueezeOS for a wee while now.
To control it from distance I've been using Squeezeplay (from PC), or ipod/android apps. They all work fine but there's something missing from the user experience. Sometimes I wish I could just grab the remote like I do with the Squeezebox touch to select a song.
I've got an old Archos 70 IT android tablet lying around doing not very much. It would be absolutely fantastic if this could be made into a dedicated remote for the joggler/squeezebox (without going down the android app route). I know it can be hacked to multiboot with debian etc, but I just don't have any experience in this area.

Would it be possible to hack it so that it boot straight into SqueezePlay OS, like the joggler, or would there be too much work involved in changing the Joggler SqueezePlay OS to be compatible with this device?
