@jkn
It reports 44.1 PCM which reminded me that this is the default.
It also reminded me tha @gegs recommended changing the default rate

@jkn
Installing EDO

Installing EDO
Code: Select all
cd ~
wget http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/download/file.php?id=329 -O EnhancedDigitalOutput.tar.gz
So just append --no-check-certificate to the wget stringIssued certificate has expired.
To connect to www.jogglerwiki.com insecurely, use `--no-check-certificate'.
joggler@openframe:~$
Code: Select all
sudo tar -xvf EnhancedDigitalOutput.tar.gz -C /opt/squeezeplay/share/jive/applets/ --overwrite

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Hi all
Sorry for delayed reply, I wasn't getting notifications about them.
Slightly embarrassing ... after reading the above few postings, I just restarted LMS (having previously set the 'hide sample rate') setting in the plugin ... and it looks like things are fine!
I will read a bit more though as I do think the sample rate issue might be involved. What I had seen earlier, and didn't explicitly mention, is that it was only the 'listen live' that wasn't working, non-live streams were fine. Strange.
Anyway, I have enough to be going on.
Thanks a lot, jon N

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
PS: I perhaps also should say that I have never, so far, bothered with checking the supported audio formats, it has always worked 'well enough' for me (I mainly play music from my home NAS). But these recent postings have nudged me to take a look at EDO etc. I probably should have done that years ago, so thanks for that also.
Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
I have just bought a joggler to install Squeezeplay os, I have tried several times and I am not getting the icon on the screen, not sure what to do from here?
It does beep twice though.

Please outline the procedure you followed and which OS you used, internal or external
And what is visable on the screen when it fails

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Hi Ronnie thanks for the reply, as far as I'm aware it's the original os, the build has the same build number as the last update, I have downloaded the zip file and extracted it to a file and copied these files including the .sum file o a usb stick, turned off the joggler, plugged in the usb and restarted the joggler.
Done this several times with 3 usb sticks that are formated in FAT.

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Oh, right!
I think better to use the newer Bullseye Image
If you are using a Windows OS computer;
Download
https://openbeak.net/openframe/images/d ... ye/latest/
Burn the image (the file ending .img.gz) to a usb stick (I use the RPI Imager tool mostly, but Balana Etcher works as well)
Put the stick in the Joggler, connect an Ethernet cable and power it up
Watch the |Joggler screen until the IP address appears
I use PuTTY on Windows 10 Pro
Open a PuTTY terminal with the IP Address of the Joggler (user is: of password is: joggler)
type
and press the Enter key
It should complete as "up to date"
Then type
EDIT: removed "apt" from instruction, it was a typo on my fault, sorry
when it completes, type
This should give you Squeezeplay on the usb stick.
The file system on the stick is not expanded
If you have LMS running on another computer, that is all you need to do.
If you wish to use the internal ram, then copy the two files you downloaded as per the instructions to use the Reflash utility
I hope this helps

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Thanks for the reply, I got an error 'connection refused', not used Putty before, did not see anywhere to put in login details just the IP address?

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Open PuTTY and enter the IP Address of the joggler (you can also use openframe.local but wait for a minute or two because it takes the joggler some time to start up). Click on the "Open" box
Enter the user name and press the Enter key, then enter the password (there will be no text displayed)
Press Enter again after putting in the password

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
I have sometimes gotten that error but have just repeated the command and it has run.
Try this,
sudo apt update
then
sudo /usr/local/sbin/of-install squeezeplay
I have just tried it and it worked

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Hi all
My jogglers with squeezeplay OS have been sat unused for a while due to ongoing work on the house and system changes. Anyway I recently upgraded my Vortexbox and found I could do with a player for a system in another room, so got one out again.
It's been a while since I set these up so I can't remember whether I ever solved this problem or not. Is there a solution to this?
It's connected via USB to a Benchmark DAC2. The issue is that it is not recognised on boot but works if I unplug it, plug it in, then relaunch (but only shows the DAC data before relaunch). If I then shut down and restart, I have to do the whole unplug, replug, relaunch rigmarole or it will start up set to the internal speakers or say DAC not connected.
I have today tried reflashing with the latest operating system and reinstalling EDO.
I have a feeling there was a solution but I could be wrong.

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Hi @dan1502
In which mode are you using the Benchmark, USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 ?
Which "latest operating system" are you using ?
Are you using the Joggler internal ram or an external ram for the OS ?
Please describe in detail how you start up and shut down both the Joggler and the Benchmark
Do you want to have one of the devices powered on all the time ? (if so, which one) or both powered off ?

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Versions 3.03 on the internal memory. EDO installed.
I tried both USB modes but am using 2. I resulted in a continuous reboot cycle.
I would generally have the DAC switched on and set to USB input before switching on the joggler.
Generally I would get the no dac connected message, tao on the screen, unplug and plug the USB, reload (not reboot) and it will be fine but with the DAC information screen with sample rate etc only displaying in digital output settings before reloading the OS.
So, it works but is a faff.
I've read back through everything I could find and am wondering whether installing v1.09 might be the solution but it seems like it should be something that is fixable without resorting to that.

@dan1502
Have you set the audio outputs to direct external ?
Or maybe, after powering on the dac, cycle through the inputs ?

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Sorry for the late reply. Digital audio out set to external, yes and tried cycling.
