Hi,

my Joggler is due to arrive soon and looking forward to get Squeezebox OS on it to see how it compares with my SB Touch.

Want to get a sensible dac and was looking at a used Arcam rDac. Has anyone used the Joggler with this dac?

Thanks

My main concern was would there be any driver support issue with the usb connection or is this not an issue?

Read currentflow's post (#15) on this page: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pc-based ... ion-2.html

He says it is plug-and-play compatible with Ubuntu so it should work, certainly with Squeezeplay OS and probably with the PnPIII version too.

Gulp! That's a lot of dosh to fork out if I'm wrong.

It does look amazing though and I'm pretty jealous. If it works in linux I'm sure it will work fine though. Every USB soundcard I've tried has worked straight away, without any tweaking or additional drivers, but they've been a lot simpler than the rDac.

Good luck! I'll be following this thread to see how things go.

Don't worry it's a reconditioned one - not so flush as to be able to buy new ;)

Looking to replace my SB Touch on my main hifi so want it to sound no worse than the analogue out on the SB.

Bit of initial feedback. Got the rDac earlier this week, and also bought the Maplin PSU recommended by many. Plugged it in switched the Joggler to the external source and it worked first time. After a few hours listening I have to say to me its sounds fantastic. Much better than the analogue output of the SB Touch, and also the M-Audio 192 soundcard I used before that. Has anyone tried replacing the stock PSU of the Joggler for something like the Maplin one?

Here I have used mostly Openpeak PSU's found reasonably priced at all electronics dot com. They are combo input voltage AC and priced at around $8.00 USD. That said too have moved many of the Jogglers now over to using POE with TP-Link multi-DC voltage power injectors and working well being on 24/7 for over a year.

The POE device providing the 48VAC power is a Tycon 24 port midstream managed power injector with whatever switch is stacked above it. The combination does work well for the wired network interfaced Jogglers. That said the wireless ones just utilize the Openpeak power supplies.

Recently purchased the TP-Link small footprint managed 24 port Gb switch. Very reasonably priced and a tiny footprint. First 24 port capacity managed Gb switch with no fan reasonably priced that I have purchased (IE ~ 150.00 USD).

Superb! It's always good to have confirmation of great hardware that works with the Joggler. You may have a reconditioned rDac but I'm still jealous.
