Newbie Squeezeplay help

I have just received my new Joggler and want to use it primarily for running Squeezeplay outputting to a Benchmark DAC 1 HDR via USB which supports up to 24/96.

I have no idea about linux.

I believe the Joggler operating system to be the latest off here as it was stated as such by the seller, John Woolfe who advertises on the marketplace, and looks like the pictures on here.

So, do I need to install the dedicated Squeezeplay OS or is the one I have installed ok?

What else do I need to do? My plan is to build a Vortexbox as a server but for now I have installed LMS v7.80 on my PC, created an account, the library of FLAC files has sorted and is visible from my Joggler.

I've set the Interface Configuration to external. I set fixed volume to maximum but the ability to access this setting seems to appear and disappear.

Is there anything else I need to do or will it now output 24/96?

If that's the case I gues I ought to move to installing EDO or do I need to do that anyway?

Step by step instructions or a link to them would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add that I've since hooked it up to the DAC and it is playing FLAC files fine but I don't know at what bit rate.

I've now reflashed the OS to Squeezeplay OS. I just need to know whether I need to program it to enable 24/96 and if not I might as well enable the highest bit rate possible while I'm at it and install EDO I guess. If someone can point me to exactly what to type in the command line I should be able to manage it.

I've downloaded Putty on my pc and managed to log in to the Joggler. I've downloaded EnhancedDigitalOutput.tar.gz onto my pc but don't know how to transfer this to the Joggler or what to do next. I've read through the main post on this but as I have absolutely no expertise in programming etc I really need to know exactly what to do next. I would be so grateful if someone would assist me with this as I'm guessing it will only take a few minutes from where I am up to now. The only thing for me to do then will be to patch LMS but that's not essential for the timebeing due to the 24/96 bitrate of my DAC.

Don't laugh but I've now got it up and running apart from the LMS patch. I was a bit scared to be honest and made only one mistake (that I know of) which was to accidentally press enter whilst half way through writing the file transfer script so I downloaded a couple of random files from the forum. I did a screen dump so I can identify them to remove them but don't know how to find and delete them. I guess they'll do no harm but wouldn't mind knowing how to get rid.

Many thanks to everyone who's worked on this. I'm off to listen to music before I look at the LMS patch and get back to designing my Vortexbox server build.
