Hi,

Have you tried both systems

Which one is better for performance and reliability

The way I'm going to use Joggler

Joggler has JDownloder installed and connecting to a Freenas device for downloading

Linux mint and ubuntu are pretty similar, just different desktop environments and package choices. linux mint also ships with more "non free" stuff like win32 codecs etc. linux mint no doubt uses a little more ram, due to things like the mint menu, but try both and see which you like.
