has anybody else got any issues with transparency of the florence keyboard on the latest build (jolios1.2-v1.4)?
on my previous old maverick install the keyboard was transparent but on this one it's completely opaque and changing the settings doesn't seem to affect it?

jolios doesnt come with compiz enabled by default. this is needed for the transparency (search around the net for how to enable it if you want it, but its unnecessary overhead imho)

And Android 1.23 (eye candy and strong WAF)quite a few issues though
Just tried JOLI OS wow, what can I say, loving this build, thanks.
Almost as good to look at and very responsive,but with full blown xbmc and squeezeplay, very impressed so far: -)
Looking forward to new developments on joli too

I'm getting up a messed up display playing mpeg2 streams with xbmc (screen is mostly green). I set the throttle temp to 80 as per your instructions. Is there anything else that needs to be changed?
cheers

Has anyone heard any more about the shiny new Joli system? I signed up for the beta ages ago, but other than a page allowing me to link services (Facebook, Twitter and the like) there's been nothing else I can do on their new platform.

the beta was for jolicloud - the web stuff. they may roll that into the jolios interface, but not in its current form afaik. I have tested the jolicloud stuff, and it sort of does as it says, but doesn't offer me anything personally. I have heard of rumours of a new jolios though, perhaps something rebased onto the next ubuntu lts release (12.04)

Updates for Joli OS (30/12/2011)
* Kernel 3.1.6.
* Latest EMGD - note seems to cause screen corruption on shutdown.
* New version of the Florence on screen keyboard with support for mouse modifiers (alt + left click to move window for example).
* General package rollup/ubuntu updates.
* Note: Some of these updates are also available for older images via the Joggler PPA on launchpad.

I've just recently put the latest JoliOS image on my joggler and I'm having wifi disconnection issues that weren't present in the previous version I was using.
I'm currently on Joli OS 1.2 v1.7 (09/02/2012) with the ext4 filesystem
Previously I was running Jolicloud 1.1 v1.2 (11/01/2011) with btrfs
I keep finding the wifi disconnected/disabled when leaving the joggler on for a while. It's connected to an 802.11n router.
I switched from btrfs to ext4 to see if it improved longterm reliability - I find that every couple of months random errors and lockups increase and I think it's because of flash corruption caused by power outages (the plug is forever getting pulled out). I'm hoping the ext4 image is a bit more resilient....

Hi buzz

, trying to get this running on my Joggler using a 4GB mosKeyto USB Flash drive however the dd fails, because no space left on the device
dd: writing to `/dev/sdd': No space left on device
7698433+0 records in
7698432+0 records out
3941597184 bytes (3.9 GB) copied, 7187.18 s, 548 kB/s
I think the image might be just a tiny bit too big.

actually your usb is a tiny bit too small. Try another one that is actually advertised size - (yours may have had bad blocks or something). My images are actually under 4gb, but your stick looks a fair amount smaller still. There are some threads here mentioning good working usb sticks.

Is there no way it could be made to work?

I bought 2 of these keys especially for the joggler. They fit almost flush with the case and look really nice.
