Well you are not going to want to hear this.

Installed the VHD image to a stick. Cold booted it. It came up quickly. No touch though. I let it sit awhile; started to load drivers but no touch.

2nd cold reboot; just hung where it hung on the earlier version;"ffire.sys"

This is me putting it on a memory stick only.

OK, I downloaded the VHD and copied it along with a EFI partition that boots from a hub.

If you quit out of the initial driver install, you'll not get it booting again.

I used a USB stick/hub/wired keyboard combo (no mouse) that is known to work fine. Booted up your new build, used the keyboard to first <enter> through the found hardware prompts, answering NO to the prompt to restart. Using the keyboard, navigate to device manager and update the driver for the HID composite device which gets the touchscreen working.

Then I shutdown, did a cold boot and I'm looking at a working install. I think this is a keeper. I like the Vista-style windows skin. Tweaks that I might suggest are adding -start-maximized switch to the chromium shortcut and, if chrome themes work, installing the Windows XP Zune theme to keep a common look throughout. I like the XBMC skin, too.

I'm using a typical 10MBs write speed memory stick - not my fastest, but it boots in similar time to a HDD of my build. Nice and quick to startup and shutdown. If someone were to use the non-hub EFI, they could knock another 10seconds off the boot time. Writing the XOJ EFI to the internal storage means never having to worry about using a hub or not, anyway.... just a single active partition on a memory stick.

Thank God its working, think flashfire is causing the driver issues, but the speed it gives that build makes it worth it! When II have comp time later on will post a guide from your post if that's ok mate.

Made my day to hear it work, how are you finding look and feel/speed?

Yeah, sure.

I only have O2 Jogglers. This is a nice build and worth time to get it working. It's quick, but I still have reservations about FlashFire. XBMC locked up earlier and I needed to alt-F4 out of it... hasn't worked since, sticks on main screen at 100% CPU. :(

I can host this one. I'll make a new image with the EFI for hubs partition and put it in my S3. This can also be slimmed down a bit by getting rid of some temp files and ntuninstallers. I'll get on it. With a tiny bit of tweaking, it looks like this...... sexy!

correction, XBMC only locks up when trying to exit.

XBMC might not like the beta skin, only tested the XBMC to make sure the skin worked, but it did lock up on exit, but the build is fast, and I like FlashFire, anything to prolong the life of my stick lol

I am glad i decided to install vista sidebar, it makes for a great show piece and suprisingly, runs real light,

It is sexy too lol

might be that the HW or FW is different to ours. I'll upload your build now that it's been run on my O2 and that should do the trick. I'll test on another stick to be sure.

I've changed the theme of chromium to match the XP shell and added the fullscreen switch. I put vnc on there and the sidebar is there if people chose to run it and configure it to launch on startup, as before. Oh, and I've changed the W32time settings to pick up the time on cold or warm boot. Aside from that and tidying up the old Windows uninstallers and other leftovers, it's just the same as your build, only a bit more friendly on the downloaders!

Before you get started, pete. There are drive errors. Squeezeplayer is one thing affected, with folders that can't be deleted, but after a reboot i'm stuck mid boot after ffire.sys.

Dan can you check your side to rule out bad upload/download?

This is a chkdsk of the un zipped VHD, not the flash stick.

I was able to copy over the bad files to the SSD USB drive and run a chkdsk on the drive. Haven't looked at Squeezeplay; but did see errors in the of the directories early on.

I am too seeing the red x for a bit; then it goes away.

if you click on the red cross, you can tick to stop being reminded for windows to 'correct' your display settings. :D
