mickchip, when that happened with me; Dan said to play some with the boot.ini; which I did. On a totally tangent; when that happened with the Debian build on the Dockstar Debian stuff I had I put a loop in the Uboot such that it would look for the USB stick and it would do this about 4 times or so such that it would eventually default to a Uboot basic build. It was a weird mix of geometries and time of recognition on the USB bus, voltages and such. I'm not really sure if the internal USB port is first in line on the bus. Easy to tell with Linux; a bit more involved with Wintel. Looking at the various benchmarks there's no real close uniformites in RW speeds on the USB sticks; especially in wintel. Maybe throw the "kitchen sink" in the boot.ini file.

It's not the internal USB port I'm trying it on, I've overwritten the joggler OS with the the image and am trying to boot with just keyboard & mouse attached, no usb sticks internal or external.

Ah, I had a heck of a time doing that trying to boot into the EFI OS.
I tried about 4-5 different USB keyboards; I couldn't interupt the boot into EFI process (blind boot stuff); I attributed to not the "right" usb keyboard.

i have also tried to boot images from the internal flash of the joggler, i think its maybe because the jogglers internal flash is so slow, causing windows to load all the drivers and then get stuck

I remember that winter in the UK. Yes it was snowing, but the UK should really be better prepared for all weather conditions as we get a lot of just about all weather. I kind of remember it was reported later that London being snarled up was due to the over reporting of the media and people rushing home early to avoid getting stranded.
I booted the W2003 build on both the external and internal ports with no mods needed. All my boot problems with that build were either down to the hub port or me goofing up not setting the windows partition active when fiddling with it. I did notice that after one or two boots, I could only boot if I connected the keyboard dongle after crcdisk.sys had completed. I'm not getting the same thing with the XP SP3 build I'm working on - the full fat TinyXP - plus it found much more Joggler hardware, like the internal memory. I had to move this build to HDD as it's really not ideal to run it on a memory stick. Good on a HDD though.
I'm not going to try to boot from the internal memory. It's really slow for a start and I've read of failing internal memory killing the Joggler from booting from the external port, too.

Doing the benchmarking I did notice speed / boot speed changes as the EFI "evolved". I was using the screen change as a marker of sorts to see how fast it would get their; typically 100% boot after that. Noticed on the XP builds something still booting after the desktop which would kind of cause a "flicker" of the entire display.
I enjoyed the walk from the London office home (temporary) in the snow; reminded me a bit of Chicago. I seldom took the tube and either walked or used the "green cabs". I remember on an early morning walk some older women started to walk with me every morning. She was young (teenager I guess) during the war and spoke alot about the blitz when I asked her about the "spaces" between the row houses. She was pleasant company on my early morning walks. Kind of a history buff myself enjoying reading periodicals mostly to get a guage or snapshot in time of what was going on during a time in history.

Mick, have you tried not plugging in the keyboard and mouse until the internal mmc has booted? I used to get crcdisk hangs on w2003 for that very reason when using a hub and flash stick. Wait until the screen does that top half static thing before plugging in the keyboard and mouse.
