Thanks for the info. This is the phone I've had my eye on but I wasn't aware it had a vibrant hacker community.dwl99 wrote:If you're looking for an Android phone to cut your teeth on you could do a lot worse than the Orange San Francisco, currently 80 quid + 20 quid compulsory topup instore for the next few days only. There's a thriving forum over at Modaco & it's very easy to unlock it & flash a custom 2.2 or 2.3 ROM. You can also use it as a remote for your Squeezeplay with an app called Squeeze Commander!
Thanks for this. If it works I will have to eat my hat regards Android on the Joggler. I probably won't have time to try it his week but I'm sure my kids would love me to get it working, if only for the games.Mc-Po wrote:For those unable to connect to dropbox
Theres a problem downloading apk on unauthenticated certificates over https
The solution drag the folder into your public folder, find the public url for the file, remove the filename
Make a tinyurl pointing to your dropbox public url
then on the joggler type tinyurl.com/yourname/gmail.apk
etc
and it will download and install
Is there a way to use a bluetooth keyboard with Android? It would be great to have the ability to map specific keys to the absent hardware or soft buttons ('Esc' to exit a program, for example). Even better, with regard to gaming, would be the ability to pair Android on the Joggler with a Wiimote. Stop me! I'm dreaming.asantaga wrote:@gegs, re joggle for games.. Mmmm Id be a little careful. one of the main issues for android on the joggler is the lack of hardware buttons.. even though this release we have softbuttons in the status bar, when some apps go full screen these buttons disappear (e.g. gallery).. when this happens if the app doesnt have a "exit" buttn then your stuffed and you need to pull the plug..
