Hi pete ive tryed the image you uploaded, and it works! it does however take a few attempts to boot but it gets there, have you any ideas how to utilise the PATA zif port? do you know if the 1.3" ssd from super talent will fit internaly? as I havent opened mine up to check for space?

Good news verg0. Did you boot the image from a USB hub or just directly from the Joggler USB port?

I do not have any ideas on utilizing the PATA zif port other than what Buzz put on the Joggler Wiki.
I do have all of the "pieces" required though as I purchased them to play with the Asus 901A.

From the pictures of the interior; it might fit. I have yet to take mine apart; will do so in the next few days. I just purchased a very small micro toggle switch for the power. It "should" fit on the small ridge in the back of the Joggler. Thinking of redoing the cooling of the inside of the Joggler a bit. But can't really say much until I take it all apart.

Hi, I booted from the USB port on the side BUT my USB drive is a USB to CF adaptor ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-1-1-2-0-C ... 35b319c044 ) dont know if this would have an effect anything?

Yes, please let me know if you decide to take yours apart, I should able to add the zif socket with abit hot air and a no-clean flux pen... (reminds me of those atmel lifting days with the cable scene!)

not sure about windows booting from internal port, as we are using a windows installation that is usb specific

Dan,

What about a small USB to IDE drive inside of the Joggler instead? I've seen the SSD's with the USB ports on them; not sure how they work though.

I had an easier time with my USB to CF adaptor and the USB to my 1.8" IDE drive than with the variety of USB memory stick(s) that I have playing with.

The faster of the two was the USB to the 1.8" IDE drive.

from the internal usb that would be best, and the 1.8 ide if i could get hold of a cheap one to test with would be ideal, as the speeds jump right up. but cant find one anywhere thats cheap enough, the ide booting from the internal usb would be insane

This one would maybe fit in the WLAN part of the Joggler eh?

http://www.kingspec.com/solid-state-dis ... a-slcj.htm

Here's an 8 Gb one for $24 USD. Found another one on Ebay for $21 USD.

With PATA being a 'native method of storage', adding a ZIF SSD to the main board would reduce the CPU overhead as opposed to a USB stick, this will result in a faster operation of the Joggler...

While typing; been playing a bit with ethernet. Here is the NIC card asking for a DHCP address (disabled the WLAN card).

I have it disabled. If I enable the internal NIC; it just shows that its disconnected. If I connect an ethernet cable to it; it locks up the Joggler.
14:22:05 dhcpd DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.244.192 (192.168.244.129) from 00:0c:1f:18:18:00 (experien-73dcfe) via eth1

difficult, as the Ethernet kinda rides on the back of the wifi and shares its mac address..
