I used "sudo rm..." and the file was deletet. After I repluged the usb stick, the file was not deletet if I checked.
After I create a new directory and moved the file.
So I restart the OF2 Joggler with usb stick and the noise sound isn't here, but no sound works also in Squeezeplayer.
What is my problem?
Difficult to know - did you SSH in and delete it, or did you move the stick to another machine?
Blimey, page 2 already!

Yeah it works
I logged in with SSH to joggler and delete the file.
It works only on this way.
So and the next step is the wifi problem
thanks roobarb! for helping

Me too on the high bitrate stuff!
From the reading I've done it would seem that Wilberforce has done all the heavy lifting on this one. If you follow
his instructions here, it would seem that the applet and replacement of jive_alsa is all that is required; Wilberforce recompiled the jive_alsa binary, adding the higher rates (I'm guessing there - I'd need clarification). Our kernel is already geared up for USB DACS of various types, so that's not a stumbling block.
There's a possibility that jive_alsa won't be overwritten properly, so
Wilberforce's fix for that is here. Then, if you want 192kHz, you need to
patch your Logitech Media Server install.
As for adding this in by default... I'd be much happier if the additional steps in compiling beyond what's described in
my old article were available somewhere (unless I'm just missing them). Supporting SqueezePlay on the original OS, as well as SQPOS, makes me pretty paranoid about knowing how the binaries were built. I'd also need to dig out a 96/192kHz capable USB DAC from somewhere to test, as I don't have any in the house. In other words, don't hold your breath! But the steps are straightforward... I could summarise them or maybe make an installation script in the future...
Anyway, I say "good luck" and let me know how it goes.

Fantastic! That's now tested on two OF2 units, then. Mine boots with a Telio logo - what company was yours customised for?
Also, would you mind posting the output of the following command:
It would be nice to know what hardware is in there to compare to mine.

Awesome, thanks for that! Swisscom, eh? Another to add to the list of OpenPeak's customers...
All of the contents look the same as my Telio unit here. Just to be cheeky... could you do the same with these two commands as well?

SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for Joggler

Anyway, I say "good luck" and let me know how it goes.

thanks for the run-through Roobarb, I have just cut and pasted all the links into the Terminal window as you kindly directed me to and I'm now listening to my Dac via the USB out at 96K , thanks for now.
As regards the 192K, I'm just happy with actually being able to listen to something at last . with my Meridian explorer dac I can get up to 192k. At this moment though I'm definitely getting everything up to 96k, which for me is a bonus considering I haven't got a clue what I'm doing with this thanks to both you and Wilberforce also.

Thanks - it looks identical to mine; the VegaOne audio system is for the DECT interface that would have connected to the phone. Good to know.

That's fantastic! What format are your source audio files? I'm actually very impressed that this worked - definitely interested in finding out what needed to be tweaked in jive_alsa's source now.

Yes... you would need to install one of the
3.2 kernels, recompile the RT2870STA driver, pin the appropriate packages for apt to use Xserver 1.9 and then compile Intel EMGD from
BuZz's Launchpad PPA.
You'd be much better off starting with
his base image, I reckon. That's ready to rock with EMGD.

Yikes that sounds like a hassle. If i get the base image within 1GB is it as simple as just overwriting the eMMC completely, or are there some other quirks I need to worry about?

If you could add it to the full program that would be super , really would.
I listen to the following file types and resolutions flac , AIFF and bit rates 44k , 96K & 192k all 24 bit.
The sound quality was really exception, I did consider buying a Squeezebox but they are becoming very expensive on the used Market, so went for a Joggler hoping that some kind soul would offer advice, for which I am very appreciative for sure, I just cut and pasted the information provided by Wilberforce into terminal and clicked enter. I don't know if all of the proceedures went through smoothly as I'm not at all familiar with a Linux or any computer programming for that matter. It would be great if this software could be added to your program as standard, would be tremendous and a great help.
Thanks

If you want it on the internal MMC, you do need to jump through another couple of hoops. You need to make sure that /boot/grub.cfg points to 'root=/dev/mmcblk0p2' and that /etc/fstab also points to mmcblk0p1 and mmcblk0p2 for boot and root partitions respectively. The kernel also needs the MMC block drivers compiled in, otherwise it won't be able to see the internal memory to boot from. This wasn't included a couple of years ago, but that may well have changed now. You could always use my compiled 3.2 kernel if needs be.
There's probably more, but that's enough to get you started!

Thank-you roobarb!
I've added your newest on to my test build. I have kept it at 8Gb but may move back to the 16Gb SSD. Playing with XBMC, MythTV stuff and custom automation screen (similar to what mike is doing). (IE added Mono to the mix).
From the base mono application I can go to MytTV, XBMC and SP and back again to the overlay.

Interesting thing I've discovered; I've managed to get the kernel drivers working for the BCM43225 on the OpenFrame 2, but without the 'irqpoll' kernel option it won't find any networks. Looks like something is a tad squiffy in the firmware or hardware and it needs the kernel to hold its hand and take care of things for it.
UPDATE1: Oh, dear. The wireless performance is appalling. Something is definitely not right...

UPDATE2: Hmm, marginally better on an 802.11g network. Usable, but not impressive.

Hi roobarb!
I know, in the other version of squeezeplayer os, the wireless works fine.
Maybe you can take this driver.
I know, that with other OS (ubuntu or mint) it works also.

Since I had problems with PNPIII acting strange I decided to move over to SQPOS - as Squeezeplay was the only used program on PNPIII anyway - and today installed the new version. Thanks for all your hard work!
However, I noticed that the output volume isn't as loud as PNPIII, and I did disable the Master Output Limiter and using external DAC. Can I somewhere change the max volume output to louder??

Try using an SSH client to log in and type alsamixer at the command line.
You can then change the master volume with the arrow keys. Not sure if it effects an external DAC but worth a go.

Anyway, I say "good luck" and let me know how it goes.

thanks for the run-through Roobarb, I have just cut and pasted all the links into the Terminal window as you kindly directed me to and I'm now listening to my Dac via the USB out at 96K , thanks for now.
Can you tell me what exactly you did do?
I executed the first link of Roobarb's post; then rebooted and was able to choose my USB DAC.
However I don't have sound..
