OK, mine arrived today. :D
Just reflashing with roobarb's 30300 to be followed by latest pnpIII. All appears good at the moment.:D :D
One has arrived without the custom mounts, but the other one has them. Has anyone found a way of getting these off? That was some adhesive that was used! I'm struggling to even get the first bit of a blade in between the the mount and the rear casing.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Looks like superglue to me, maybee this will work http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 0951576141
Maybee a sharp tap on the perspex block with the joggler on a bench failing that.
:-)

Just got one - installed SqueezeplayOS and working perfectly.
Has anyone come up with a way of utilising the perspex mount to fit some kind of stand. Been wracking my brains but cant figure out a neat way of doing it.

Also are there any noticeable overheating effects from having no metal stand attached. The bit of heatsink showing in the groove doesnt seem to get hot and I am wondering if there is any point in trying to glue some copper sheeting onto it as makeshift cooling fins. I would guess that Squeezeplay doesnt overstress the processor.

Mines been running without a stand for a while now. I'm not saying it won't cause problems but it hasn't yet.

Just been playing with one of these - the software written to this particular one didn't have any working audio. Reflashed with v30300 and all fine. Just in case anyone else has any audio troubles.

here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Openpeak-O2-J ... 20c37b0d18 but looks a bit expensive for what it is. What size is the barrel connector for the PSU? You might be able to get a generic one or an adapter.

I just measured the barrel connector with my daughter's school ruler & I think it's 5.5mm. Perhaps someone who owns a set of calipers could confirm? Anyway, you can get a USB to 5.5mm cable here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-A-to-5-5m ... 417c9c76a3 so all you would then need would be a generic 5V 4A PSU - although I realise that 4A is a bit meaty!

I've resisted these so far partly due to lack of power supply so this is good to know. Thank you!

Luckily I had a spare power supply so these were a complete bargain. Even if you have to buy a power supply, £32 all in for a working Joggler is a very good deal.

My ex-betting shop Joggler now runs as a wired Logitech Media server/player. It's tucked away and I control it from my iPad or Android phone. It serves my other two Jogglers brilliantly and radio streams are super smooth with no re-buffering events since I changed over to wired ethernet (for the server) - although I don't know if the increased stability is due to a wired connection or updating LMS to 7.8 using castalla's instructions on this forum. Probably a bit of both.

I recommend using one of these as your primary LMS machine. I did run Squeezeplug on the Raspberry Pi and it was great when it worked but was prone to dropouts, rebuffering and loss of sync between devices. None of these problems have occurred since changing to a Joggler running SqueezeplayOS v2.

The lack of a power supply shouldn't put you off. This is a great price to buy and mothball, in the event that your working Joggler suddenly stops working or gets irreparably damaged.

£20 (£15 + postage) as an insurance policy seems worthwhile - and if your old Joggler does die, you will still have its power supply.

@gegs, you're a naughty man leading me astray ;) . After a discussion with my other half who loves having a bedside joggler I've followed your advice and bought one of these for insurance purposes.

I have 3 - my wife clocked the 3rd one only a few weeks ago & gave me some counselling. I think I'll hold off getting a 4th one for the moment  .
