Where are we at? status?

Post by ordessa »

Buzz & the many hard working team here have done us rpoud with so much hard work

However I'm slightly lost now - I've got two "PNPIII" working Jogglers... one was O2'd and one was a failed one..

I wonder if someone could place an append with a kind of status as to what step we are now at

1) Do we know if O2 are pushing any more updates?
2) Is the code they want us to use working
3) Is the marvellous PnPIII now able to operate on any new O2 code

feel free to hack that list about as I dont know what image to pull any more (no complaint... just lost!)

I reflashed to the original O2 software (with a locally stored image) before installing PnPIII. It seems the easiest way but it doesn't have all of the new games - which, in my opinion, is a bonus. You may think otherwise.

Also, it appears that the new OS disables some USB installer functionality, so if you feel this is necessary, it's probably better to reflash and pimp the original OS.

offbeatdave gives pretty good instructions on how to install PnPIII on both the O2 and Openpeak OS on the first page of his PnPIII thread, so yes, it will run on old and new Joggler OSes. No point in repeating all of that here, better to link to it:

Remember to disable DHCP and set a manual IP address for your PnPIII Joggler if you want to connect wirelessly; pukington gives instructions somewhere on this page:

Cutest baby pic ever.

I have kept my joggler off since reflashing as i didn't want any half arsed updates - especially as i really can't block them. However, is this likely to be an issue for my joggler in the future in terms of what else i may want to load on it?

Any advice as to whether missing an update will be a problem? Cheers!

Don't think so as they are hopefully releasing it to us as a standalone update.

the person at o2 who created the image before isn't available until Monday. I was sent an image but it doesn't look complete/correct, so either they will post me a usb stick or people need to wait until monday.

Thanks for the update.

What are we expecting with this new image? Is it just Telnet access? I assume it's a new Openpeak image?
