Juggler Usb power cable

Post by hawsey »

Has anyone tried one of these , just noticed it on eBay , probably a good cheap way to power your joggler if you have plenty phone chargers knocking about .

Whenever I have tried to use one of the phone chargers, all I get is a white screen, 2 amps does not seem enough, 4 amps is fine.

Maybe the phone chargers are not 2 AMPs?

I have seen small tiny USB chargers around that look nice but never have tried one on the Joggler. I have though used these for my cell phones and they work just fine.

I also have powered up the RPi and RPi2 and my custom GPS board with these and they are working fine.

Here only substituted for Openpeak power supplies have been 4 AMP generic 5VDC PS's.

Relating to POE using a TP-Link power injector connected to a standard POE 48VDC port has always worked for me.

That's total output
. 1A socket ideal for mobile phones, 2.4A socket ideal for tablets.

I like that.

One of the first issues I had with those mini USB power connectors on boards was mostly related to their cheap ass build. I had a few just fall off the attached circuit board. I have not seen this happen to the RPi and RPi2 yet.

I am though only using the PS's with the direct connect mini USB's on them and one with a POE. I have though too gone to just soldering power leads to the boards these days. (trusting more a glob of solder more).

The connectors get warm but haven't fallen off the RPi2 yet. I am though trying to melt an RPi2 today with one in the attic

I should maybe try putting a Joggler in the attic for kicks. Temps have gone to around 140 °F / 60 °C which truely isn't that hot anyways.
