Xubuntu 12.10 Quantal and Squeezeplay issue

My Joggler is currently running Xubuntu 12.10 Quantal from a USB stick.
When using Squeezeplay, and selecting areas at the bottom of the Squeezeplay screen (“Quit” for example), it brings up the Xubuntu quick launch icons which prevents me for accessing Squeezeplay actions.
Is there a way to turn these icons off or is there another work around?
