USB stick

Post by mattjax05 »

Hi
Can anyone please recommend a usb stick for my joggler. I want to install ubuntu on it and needs to be discrete (small) and black if possible. Also good read speeds, budget £10.
Thanks

I use a couple of Super Talent Pico C Nickel edition. Not black but dark, small, average write speed 8-10mb second, decent read speed ~27mb second (Seems to pretty much max out usb2.0). 8gb one is £15 the 4gb one is under a tenner.

other options you have are small usb adapter with class 10 microsd. I've seen some that only stick out a few mm.

you can get smaller usb keys, but I don't know how quick they are. like http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10425 or one from dlock. probably a little over a tenner though.

Excellent thank you. I will give the Super a try. I did read a few negative reviews about the connection being too big! What version of Ubuntu should I install? The new 10.10 Maverick? Compressed? Cheers.

The Busbi ones from argos are superb, extremely small, you can probably get them cheaper mail order/tinternet. I use one in my car stereo as it is a front loading USB port, and you hardly see it...

Thanks, does the Busbi http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... BI+USB.htm work well with the Joggler in particular installing Ubuntu?
