Hello. I downloaded Linux Mint 13 today. Can't seem to install squeezeplay though - no error messages pop up. A tab appears at the bottom of the screen 'Starting administrativ' and then nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks!

Edit: Forgot to say that Mint had over 116 updates to install once it was running on my joggler. It wouldn't install squeezeplay before or after it had upated. :(

Oh dear - the whole thing's failed and it won't let me in.

'general error mounting filesystems..
a maintenance shell will now be started..
give root password'

and control D reboots to the same message which I can't get beyond.

It won't accept 'joggler' as a password. What should I be typing in? I don't mind wiping the usb and rewriting mint - it's just that it took over 2 hours yesterday to update (see previous post). Any advice please?

Edit: I rewrote to usb. This time though no updates - apparently it's already up to date :? Unfortunately, still no sign of squeezeplay....

BuZz, I downloaded Mint 12. Squeezeplay installed perfectly.

Is the problem of getting squeezeplay on Mint 13 not about me being a bit dumb but the link not working?

could be that I forgot the install script or something :)

you can still install with the instructions from roobarb's site etc - just requires a line or so typed in. and ill look into the issue for the next update.

Unless 13 is waaaay better than 12 I think I'll stick with 12 and wait for your next update! (Not lazy, just playing it safe!).

Horses for courses I know, but I quite like Mint. Probably cos I only want it for xmbc and squeezeplay and it responds faster than Joli...and maybe because it's a bit windows like? Visually it's clean and simple. So when you wonder if it's worth your time bothering to update it, I'll add to the others on this thread and say I'd be very grateful. :)

Can someone help me please. Is it possible to change the audio output for Mint 12 to an external source (in this case usb soundcard or usb speakers) globally and as default. I have looked but couldn't see it a way to do it. Thanks in anticipation. :)

Well done buzz, been a while since I updated my collection, mint 13 is by far the best os I have used on the joggler, will be my goto from now on! (not surprising considering a joggler guru built it!)

And congratulations, you converted a windows user :P
Fullscreen squeezeplay windows, server 2003, foshiz mini v1 and v2, (and a few broken builds) :P so far.....

Just downloaded linuxmint_13-v1.0-btrfs.img.gz and I'm looking at getting my Joggler set up to use XBMC for music.

I'm puzzled that xbmc.bin seems to be constantly using at least 80% of cpu. Even when it doesn't appear to be doing anything. Is that normal? The general responsiveness of XBMC is often quite poor, though I suspect that might be caused by the CPU temperature getting too high and hence throttling. (The case of the Joggler seems to have been designed on the assumption that the CPU will never have to do any significant work.)

Does anyone have any recommendation for a good XBMC skin for use on Joggler? I found one called Joggler but given the size of many of the buttons I can only assume the author's fingertips are a lot smaller than mine.

Do the thermal trip point tweak as per the joggler wiki which will increase responsiveness considerably and as far as skins are concerned " re touched " by Jezz_X on the xbmc forum is very good as is Xebo , I love the Joggler skin also and I think after you have done the trip point tweak it will also seem a lot better to you :-)
Good luck
P.s you can also get xbmc to auto boot on startup with Mint quite easily ...

BuZz, I thought I might update my image of this. On the last version there was a problem with downloading squeezeplay so I had to add it manually - much easier to do than I thought - just wondering if it's been fixed or if I'll need to add manually again. Thanks.

Edit: maybe only I had that problem and it wasn't the image at all?
