I think so... When I bought it, it was supposed to have lots of pre installed stuff, but it wasn't actually there... I then did the pre-pnp3 stuff in the instructions, and then pnp3 - could I have ended up with a Frankenstein?

It was kindly brought to my attention that the Podcast function of the iPlayer app no longer functioned due to Google pulling the player. Fortunately, spoyser came to the rescue (and already had a back-up plan built into the app). You can fiddle with stuff manually, but the simplest way to fix this problem is by doing the following:

Telnet in and enter:

cd /media/gforums/webserver/starter
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/FMP3.swf
cd /media
rm -r iPlayer/*
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/iPlayer.tar
tar xvf iPlayer.tar
rm -r iPlayer.tar
cd /media/iPlayer
chmod +x iPlayer.cgi

Note that this will remove any fiddling you've done to any of the iPlayer app configuration file.
This fix will be built in from PnP III v3.046 onwards.

Not only have the Sky apps stopped updating, the feeds used in the News app for Sport and F1 no longer worked. The following code replaces them.

Telnet in and enter:

Code: Select all

cd /media/opt
rm -r news/*
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/news.tar
tar xvf news.tar
rm -r news.tar

Note that this will remove any fiddling you've done to any of the news feeds yourself.
This tweak will be built in from PnP III v3.046 onwards.

Offbeatdave, LMS has an update (7.7.2 I think) which I couldn't get my joggler to install for love nor money as the little bugger kept crashing . Any chance you can add this update to your next version of pnpIII - or tell me how to add it myself without going through opera. Thanks again.

Should have added a note not to try and update LMS. It won't work by clicking etc. It is something that has to be done manually and is quite cumbersome to do. It is done through the install script for PnP III. It is a bit of a pain to change, but if there is something worthwhile in the update I might do it.

ohhhhh. That would explain some of the problems I had on Saturday night.

As for whether or not it's worth it - not a clue. I was only to trying to update in the hope that it might help LMS finish a scan of my usb. So I guess what I'm saying is, in that case, please don't update on my account - if it goes belly up it'll be my fault!

What the hell... one code, two jogglers, telnet in exactly the same way and use code select so no typos. Joggler 1 has sky news showing today's date and headlines. Joggler 2 showing a date and news from JUNE. Telnet in and tried again. Same. Reboot. Same. Now what?

You are using the News app, not the Sky News app aren't you. The actual Sky News app no longer appears to update.
