For those who have problems with the CIFS/SMB mount command, please try this syntax:

NEW

Code: Select all

/bin/mount -t cifs //10.10.10.10\\music /media/YOURMOUNTPOINT -o user=auser,password=apass,iocharset=utf8
Make sure the mount directory exists (in this example YOURMOUNTPOINT), replace the name and path.

It looks odd but it works. Something has changed in the newer busybox builds or the cifs.ko module is too old.

It's not worth re-installing if you're running a recent version to be honest as it just removes the Sky News app (which no longer updates) and incorporates roobarb's most recent squeezeplay (which is update-able in existing versions anyway).

Sky News app still working fine for me??

Grr. It's just fired up on one of my Jogglers too. Will pop together a little patch to reinstate it on Jogglers running v3.034

Now then offbeat,

Just wanted to say thanks for the great Pnp III package, works a treat on my Joggler.
Big thanks for re-instating the o2 clock, essentially I use that as a bedroom clock, and don't have to squint as much when trying to make out the time. The other clocks are ok as a gimmick, but the o2 clock is still clear to read when dimmed.

Any chance of adding more clocks in the next version? I'm sure i'm not the only one that uses the joggler for time when not in use...

Great work with all the apps, good selection.

is the o2 update likely to go back on this after being flashed to PnP III? my joggler was updated to the new o2 stock version, but then i've used your links to get PnP onto it, so far it works a dream, but just wondering whether o2 would re-apply the stock update if it checks to see your device?

Thanks,
Sharpy

All my Jogglers that attempted/completed the over-the-air update have not tried again since I reflashed them with either the original o2 OS or the first version of the OpenPeak USB updater which was available here for a short while before being temporarily pulled.

Hi offbeatdave,

I've just updated my Joggler with PnPIII (v3.035) and am delighted to announce it works! Mine was an untouched version, which had updated (or downgraded?) to the new software. Absolutely no problems at all - except I did have to disable DCHP as others have done. Have checked the radio (my main use) along with google calendars and all is well. There is a crackle on the radio stations though - not sure if that is just my joggler...

As a not-very-techie kind of chap, I have a NAS with my music and films on which I can view on my PS3 via the Twonky server on the NAS. Do I have to enable another server (Samba? Squeezeplayer?) to be able to listen to my music on my joggler?

Thanks so much for putting PnP together - my joggler has been recovered from being a doorstop to being used every day again

I don't know myself as I've never tried to share anything with a Joggler, but I'm sure somebody will step in to advise you as plenty of other folk do!

Add a shortcut to this forum!

Post by offbeatdave »

To add an icon to the desktop to let you get to your favourite Joggler forum even quicker (via Opera), telnet in and enter the following:

Code: Select all

wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/installjogglerforum.sh
sh ./installjogglerforum.sh
rm -r ./installjogglerforum.sh
It'll be incorporated in the next release of PnP III by default.

Hi Rosbif

Not sure if the Joggler can or cannot read from a TwonkyServer (cant see any reason why not, ive just not tried it personally thats all :P ), but if you enable Samba on your NAS then the Joggler can most definately read from that (using Connect and Play on your Joggler). It can also (most certainly) read form a squeezebox server on your Nas (providing you use Squeezeplay on the Joggler to access the Squeezebox server). Hope this helps.

Alternative Hotmail link icon

Post by offbeatdave »

Image
Edit: Tweaked 17th June 2012 - It's the default Hotmail icon from v3.040.
If you fancy this alternative icon for the Hotmail shortcut in PnP III (or even PnP Mk II) then Telnet into your joggler and type:

Code: Select all

cd /media/gforums/webserver/starter/hotmail
mv hotmail.png hotmail.old
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/hotmail.png
killall tango
If you find it's not to your liking you can restore the original one with:

Code: Select all

cd /media/gforums/webserver/starter/hotmail
rm hotmail.png
mv hotmail.old hotmail.png
killall tango

BBC streams in Squeezeplayer

Post by ordessa »

I'm still having issues getting the BBC radio streams to play..

I cant find the recommended settings that were posted... something like LMC>AAC>WMA (similar)...

I've tried all combinations of this and got no joy...

Can anyone remind me of what works please... ?
Many thanks

The BBC Radio stations only play through the versions in the BBC iPlayer/BBC iPlayer Extra LMS plugins. These come almost installed with PnP III (and also PnP Mk II for that matter!)

Once PnP III is installed, you should be able to use a web browser to got to
<IP ADDRESS OF YOUR JOGGLER>:9000 to bring up Logitech Media Server.
Go to settings (bottom right I think) and then go to the Plugin tab to see if BBC iPlayer and BBC iPlayer Extra are installed as shown below:

Image

If they are not part of the list but are in their own section at the top of the page along with PlayReal and PlayWMA then you need to make sure they are ticked, apply changes and then restart the LMS server when prompted. After a few moments they will be installed completely.

When you restart Squeezeplayer, the BBC iPlayer/iPlayer Extra plugins will be under Internet Radio, but you can bring them to the Home Screen by holding down on them until the options come up. You can add stations from the Listen Live option to Favourites etc.

If you're not running PnP III then you need to select the plugins from the 3rd party plugins list at the bottom of the page (remember to show all first).

Just changed the thread title and jiggled the information in the opening post around a little. Hope it doesn't cause too much confusion!

I've fiddled with the webserver page, accessible at your Joggler's IP address. It gives no additional functionality, but it has kept me out of mischief for a few minutes!

Image

If you want to update yours to this view, then telnet in and...

Code: Select all

cd /media/gforums/webserver
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77534245/newwebserver.tar
tar xvf newwebserver.tar
rm newwebserver.tar
It is the only change in version v3.037, going live shortly...

Edit: v3.037 now available (not worth upgrading - all changes can be applied manually anyway!)

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - Download & details he

Post by rockman »

Hopefully this is something simple. I have tried a number of things to get this working but I cannot get past the point of using Telnet to connect to my Joggler???

When I attempt to Telnet to the Joggler, I just get a "Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed". I have connected my Joggler via a cable and even tried to move it so that it is connected directly to the same switch as the PC, given it a fixed IP address; none of which has made a difference.

Can anyone provide some guidance please? Will I need to reflash it back to another version, before trying to install PnP III?

My Joggler details are (in case it makes any difference);
Firmware: 8964 (boardrev: 2) (ID=17506)
Software: 30291 (Oct 1 2011:15:32:26)

I am running Windows 7 on the PC I am trying to connect from (again in case this makes any difference).

Thanks in advance...

I presume that this is on an updated Joggler. There are reports that Telnet is disabled on the most recent update.

You could check that the IP address does not conflict with anything else on your system.

If you don't manage to diagnose this, you could reflash back to the earlier o2 operating system using roobarb's reflashing tool (details at http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=2&t=120) and then proceed with PnP III.

Yes, it is an updated Joggler.

I have set the IP address to one outside of the DHCP range and also ensured that it was not already in use before assigning it. I can ping the Joggler fine, just not Telnet to it.

Having read a few things, I thought that I might have to go down that route - was just hoping that there was a simple fix!

Thanks
