I was sent a file. It didn't seem complete so I will either be sent a usb key, or people will need to wait until the person who imaged it before is back at o2 - which would be next week. also see http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=2&t=604 (should merge the threads really I guess, to avoid confusion)

I'll echo this. This could have turned out a whole lot worse for all Joggler users than it has.

Thanks to Buzz for his support and help!

Very Nice! Now my joggler is Fully debranded.

Does anyone know the telnet password?

Have just arrived home and tried out the new release.

It works perfectly when written to my 4Gb Datatraveller stick.

It is identical to the previous release (even in version numbering), but the DHCP works properly, allowing it to automatically find it's IP address (although I still set mine manually!). It was then able to pick up the time server automatically.

The telnet password is still root.

Is root the password as well as the user?

Ok. Can some really kind person please let me know exactly what I need to do to get this update. Please remember, as a non computer bod, it took me DAYS to reflash....... or will it be 'sent out' by o2 - in which case I could wait? Also (not the right thread I know but...) would it be better to try loading PNPIII - really want the iplayer - after loading this update (ie all that telnet business is truly a foreign language to me and if this update bypasses some of that then great)!

Thanks!

The new update won't have iPlayer I'm sure. It's an app created by spoyser, a member of this forum. If you want iPlayer - and I can recommend it - I would install PnPIII. The best apps from the update are on PnPIII anyway.

The new update is EXACTLY the same as the first update (even version number!) but with working networking (so you don't have to assign bits manually).

I'm hoping that this will get my Joggler going again. At the moment I cannot get the USB stick to boot the Joggler firmware update. Can I use a USB keyboard to force it to boot. If so what will be the commands?

Sorry - I don't think I explained myself properly. I know iplayer is on PNPIII and not on the update. Thought I should get the update first then try installing PNPIII .

Offbeatdave - thanks, that helps clarify re network connections etc.

What do I do with the file to update - is it just copy to a usb and insert?

Cheers!

To get the updater on a USB stick...(I think it needs a 4Gb stick)

Assuming you're using Windows, download the img.gz file and extract the .img file from it using WinRAR or 7Zip or similar.
You then need a piece of software called Win32DiskImager.
Use this to write the .img file to the USB stick.
