Thanks roobarb for making me smile :)
A strange turn of phrase for a discontinued device, but I suppose people are still using Amigas and ZX Spectrums.
A long future should have been assured - if only it had been marketed better and the stock OS had been pimped from Go!
Hehe - very true! :)

Well, the way I look at it, we've got Ubuntu 10.04 until 2015 and potentially (if Intel update their drivers and BuZz is still interested) Ubuntu 12.04 supported through to 2017. That's not bad when you're discontinued!

Not bad at all, I can still see my joggler in use in 2017, it's a unique piece of hardware and I adore it lol

Er, back to PnP II,

Just installed and midway through squeeze setup. Is there still a way to switch to USB sound output?

Thanks

Oops. May have taken the option out ages ago when it was just a self-project! The relevant file (asound.conf) can still be changed manually though if necessary to whatever it needs to be.

And linux mint 12 + updates to the current distros with kernel 3.2.4 as soon as I've done a teeny bit more testing :)

I still use my spectrum and amiga, so the Joggler is a pretty "current" device in comparison!

Thread hijackers yes very annoying :-) almost as annoying as those little emoticons but we love them really .
Just sold my spectrum 16k (with 48k upgrade ) rubber keys original ,as I have a 128k one ,but I regretted it almost straight away .
Still have zx80 and zx81 in loft though :-)

PnP II would it be easy to add another app , say flash Xap that Pete uses to this install stick or would it be better to manually add apps after an install ?
Thanks

Just wondering - how does PnP mk2 install SqueezePlay? Do you have everything included on that image, or do you need to fetch things from my server?

Only wondering because I'm in the process of tweaking some SqueezePlay stuff and I don't want to kill files that you might be relying upon. The original PnP script used an earlier version of SqueezePlay which I've been keeping alive, but it would be nice to get rid of it.

Hmm. Not sure. All I can think of is that the webserver hasn't started properly when it's been switched on, hence all the things that rely on it (swf games, restart, screen off, opera) may not work and may not have icons. If you haven't done so already try powering down and back up again.

Should be straightforward in general. Just pop the files you need for the install on the USB stick in a folder (e.g. the /files/ folder) and then add whatever you would type into telnet to install it to the PnP_MkII.shx file in the files directory, pointing commands to the /mnt/files folder where necessary. Or, if you don't want to put the files on the USB stick (e.g. they are on an online server somewhere) just add the telnet commands to the PnP_MkII.shx file in /files/

Just copy and modify the lines from another app's install bits to add an icon via PnP Mk II

Very odd indeed. I downloaded and installed from the link this morning to test it out. It installed in 14 minutes and everything that installed worked, although I was missing Squeezeplay and YouTube! I had a quick play before work and have uploaded it again to a new link on the first post to try again! Get it from http://goo.gl/Eaeby.

(I also discovered that part of the Little App Launcher was trying to connect with another of my Dropbox accounts for part of the install so hopefully that's resolved).

No problem, grateful for the work you have done!
However, I've modified my asound file to card 1. As per another post, but I get a very muffled distorted sound through the usb soundcard and amp..... Not sure if a pnp mkii issue of if this is seperate??

This one is beyond me I'm afraid. My best suggestion is to revert to the classic simple asound file?!
