I too have a (well, several) of these OpenPeak 7E devices. This Jazz build is awesome, but need wireless (mohansen, can you share how you got ethernet working?). I took apart (and shattered) one of the devices and confirmed that it has a Broadcom BCM943225HMB 802.11n/BT card in it. I'm not sure how to get that driver in the kernel... I'm such a noob. Thanks!

Wow, lots of different openpeak hardware popping up, without having device in hand its hard getting extra stuff working, but sure jazzmista will try sort it.

Where did you get the 7E? would be interesting to see the differences in windows also!

I tried it in a joggler and it worked ok , interestingly it came up with the same error messages but didn't get stuck after setting the MAC address. Maybe the problem is something to do with the ethernet driver? has anyone seen the problem before and worked out how to fix it?

thanks

Hi! I've just downloaded Mijuu's source patches, so I've started work on JazzMod again :D

I'll have a look for that driver and add it to JazzMod v2 beta.

I had tried the 1.2.3a and it worked right away on Ethernet but not wireless. When I tried the most recent ICS, I could not get wireless or Ethernet working hence my earlier post. I had tried to go to the CLI to enable Ethernet as was suggested in an earlier post in this thread. It would not work. Last night I went back to the CLI and entered SU before doing the inconfig. That enabled the Ethernet and I got an ip address via DHCP. I could ping my default gateway but could not resolve any DNS. I have not had time to troubleshoot that yet.

I am very rusty on my Linux skills so it takes me awhile to figure things out. I am hoping others much more knowledgeable can help shorten resolution time.

I continue to be amazed the amount of work that has gone into the Joggler. The android images are very responsive. Thanks everyone for all of their efforts.

That would be great. I am happy to test anything you need. I have several of these to test with.

Thanks

I have tried twice to download the windows xp image but it takes hours and then appears corrupted. I am very interested to see how it works on the 7E. Anyone know another place to get an xp image? I don't want to hijack this thread and turn it into a xp thread so if I can get directed somewhere, that would be great.

Please see the foshiz mini v2 thread, its a smaller download and should complete without corruption. Will have a few more questions for you if do not mind?

Managed to boot the XP image.

couple of points

It wouldn't boot with the usb stick in a USB hub

Few drivers missing
Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus
CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller (probably Zigbee device)

In device manager
Network adapters
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Thanks Jazzmista ,

Let me know when you have a build to test and I'll give it a go on the 7E.

Hey, thanks for this..I dusted off the Joggler and cranked it up again...The wife used to use this as her social event planner :)

Which brings me on to my question of how do you get calendar sync to work?

Installing Gmail seperately manges to bring mail sync - but none of my attempts to use any calendar app can pull in a calender sync :(

Mijuu-based JazzMod ICS v1.0 (Working Market! - LINK UP)

Post by mohansen »

I was able to get Ethernet enabled, get an ip address, default gateway, and DNS server addresses. I can ping local devices and remote devices but DNS does not appear to resolve.

I can't ping or browse using any hostnames.

Any ideas where to look next?

Currently syncing Android-x86 ICS repo - up to wallpapers so I think it's nearly done :)

After that, I'll build it with patches (and OpenPeak wifi driver) to check it works and then see what I can do about SuperUser :P
