Images 4 Openframe 2 devices
hi all
What kind of images are working on openframe 2 (the device with speakers in front) devices?
At moment, I use the squeezeplayer os.
My goal is, that I can use an image with working sound, browser, squeezeplayer and an good touchscreen keyboard (it should not have small keyboard keys).
I doesn't want use an external keyboard and mouse. With the xubuntu/ubuntu version, it isn't possible work without an mouse and keyboard. All buttons are to small.
I try to build an version on ubuntu touch (unity 8), but I can't install.
thanks for help Shadow1901

Also Mate desktop could be installed on top of Buzz 's great Xubuntu build which would be more up to date .hawsey wrote:Pm sent .

It's an old post as well so there could beba more up to date version as well .
And increasing the thermal.psv value will stop throttling ( with possible risks )

Re: Images 4 Openframe 2 devices
Thank you Hawsey. I installed Mate desktop over Buzz's Ubuntu build. It took maybe 25 minutes to upgrade on my hardware modded Openpeak 1 with RTC battery mods, USB Hub mode, SROM NIC update and SSD drive. The machine is using both the eMMC and the 16 Gb SSD card.
I haven't figured out yet how to boot in Mate and it is still booting to configured with Buzz's Ubuntu desktop. No ill effects from what I can tell. Note that this is on an Openpeak 1 which is similiar to the Openpeak 2 except it looks like an O2 Joggler except it has a bit more hardware to the base and a massive heat sink covering the whole motherboard (like the Openpeak 2).

Re: Images 4 Openframe 2 devices
Well it looks exactly like an O2 Joggler except that it is labeled Openpeak. I got Mate to load by logging out and relogging in.
I will take a picture of the device today and write Buzz's Ubuntu on a stick and try it with the Openpeak 2.

Re: Images 4 Openframe 2 devices
It is the mini version of the Openpeak 2 and looks identical to the O2 Joggler except for the label in the back and the imprint of Openpeak on it.
Inside it is a bit different.
By default it has the ZIF connector for the SSD card, DECT chip, Zigbee chip, microphone and a metal heat sink over almost the entire motherboard.
I do have a prototype of the O2 Joggler using this Openpeak 1 marked O2 except that the stuff above has been removed. I do not recall where I got it from...thinking it came from Openpeak....never touched it to keep it intact as I received it. I think I have posted pictures of the motherboard here a while ago.
It is these primarily now on line running embedded Windows using Seabios for my home automation stuff and they work fine wired or wirelessly.
Ubuntu Linux using the EFI bios for Squeezeplayers et al. - modded these with RTC and USB hubs on the backs of them.

Re: Images 4 Openframe 2 devices
I'll dig it out tonight for you Andrew , it is very old and you would do much better building your own based on BuZz's base or Xubuntu but I'll get you a link

Hi Gary
I have tried several time's to get it. But it keeps stopping at 6-8%. Tried different web browser still the same.
Could UNR desktop work on Buzz's Ubuntu if so how is it done.
Many Thank's
