Excellent work. Installed Build 2 this morning and it works great. I want to use boxee and there is a small problem. In order to navigate backwards within boxee I need to use right click. Out of the box, long press for right click isn't working. I went to Tablet and Pen Settings, then Pen Options, then click settings, but nothing happens.

Do you have any thoughts about what I can do to enable this functionality?

DF costs £23-ish. If it works as advertised, it could be amazing. http://www.faronics.com/standard/deep-freeze-2/

SteadyState is/was an official MS product, free. http://download.cnet.com/Windows-Steady ... 27965.html

They cancelled this product as it "worked too well" - if you're the conspiracy theory type. ;D

Touch isn't the same as touching with a stylus. I'll see what google says and report back.

steadystate is definitely being tested! looks very promising as an alternate to ewf.

I'm sure there's a prettier solution to my input problem, but I have found a way around it. I compiled a little AutoHotKey exe that allows me to navigate within boxee via touch gestures.

A stroke off the top of the screen (starting near the top edge) sends "Escape". - This works a little inconsistently.
A stroke off the left handside of the screen (starting near the left edge) sends "Backspace".
A long press sends a right click.

If this is useful for anyone else you can download it here: http://nxsfan.co.uk/joggler_gestures.exe

Edit: These gestures works throughout windows so long as the exe is running.

Thanks again for putting this together! The only other request I have is for the jogglers speakers being disabled when external speakers are connected.

Awesome. I'm downloading that now and adding it to my useful stuff repository. :)

I occasionally use boxee on the HTPC, but since they moved their focus to their commercial product - and who can blame them - the family had since gotten used to watching online media in a web browser.

Yeah, the speaker thing is really annoying. I plan to continue working on the fix for that today. Dan's FFXP release is out, but I don't know if he had found a fix, or the drivers he use are different and the problem doesn't exist.

SteadyState killed my XP testbed. It died when I ticked the options to prevent writing disk changes to C:\ and to USB devices - in our case, that's both. Wouldn't boot after that. Grrr.

SteadyState, once installed didn't want to uninstall either. Maybe that's part of it's design. Maybe installed with minimal settings, but it only caches disk writes to disk before abandoning them, not memory, so I don't see any performance boost, just that it stays factory fresh. I'm trying compressing the whole of c:. Comes at the cost of increased CPU, but might help with the disk bottleneck.

I'll skip refit until . I don't plan to multiboot and it's too much of a distraction right now!

Updates for anyone following this thread: Build 3 is in the works.

Download size should be about halfway between build 1 & 2. The changes so far are as follows:

Tablet components are still part of the build, but some elements that are not compatible with the build have been disabled, for example, tablet buttons have no purpose, neither does the touch screen keyboard at the login screen - the administrator account automatically logs in. The touch keyboard takes a little longer to appear on it's first use as a consequence.

I have jettisoned the Windows 7 icons - I don't feel that they add enough to justify their disk space.

For those using a HDD, I have included HDDScan so that you can configure the powersaving features of your USB HDD. If your HDD is in a generic caddy and does not spin down when connected to the Joggler, you might find that this utility can help. For instance, you could set up a scheduled task to set a low idle spin speed at night time.

The pagefile now works without requiring manually setting up or faffing about with drivers. A fixed size of 742MB.

I'm still investigating the headphone socket not muting the speakers and the NIC device not initialising on some Jogglers. I suspect HW, driver and/or FW to be the cause in these cases.

Playing around this morning looking for some nice screensavers I found the base MCE 4-5 screensavers modded such that they work on any XP. My personal favorite is the MCE aquarium.

They are posted here (check them to work just fine) and installed them on one of the Jogglers.

It's just an evolution of the last 2 builds, the same TinyXP rev11 XP Pro plus Tablet PC, just with the stuff fixed and a few extras. Once I can figure out the drivers, I'll consider this a finished build!

Using Rev11, I've never got a working micro build running. Always hangs on mup.sys. I'll check that out!

Playing a bit today with 4 Jogglers running 4 different builds all running the MCE Aquarium screen saver. The other three are doing fine. One is your first build Mevi and the two are Dan's builds (XP first and last build).

Just an FYI ...Mevi...your last build for whatever reason is making my "Joggler aquarium" appear to be running in slo motion for whatever reason.

I actually killed the fish just now by touching the screen and watching a dot net error freeze up the Joggler.

Just with this build; killing more services and upped the pagefile to 1024 (using a USB SSD).

BTW Mevi - been cold booting and warm booting this build and the NIC to GB has been fine on auto. Its not been freezing on the reboot or cold boot.

I am able to lock up or freeze all four builds (no errors though) touching the screens with the Aquarium screen saver running after maybe 20 minutes.

Maybe overheating? also could be the processor idling as the screen saver is turned on

That's a shame about the Jogglaquarium. I was looking forward to having my own miniature Bond villain evil lair on my bedside cabinet. Not sure why it's slo-mo on my build. I downloaded it earlier, so I'll load it on and see what happens. I wonder if in my build 2, I've ended up with a different video driver or .NET service pack or something. Build 3 uses build 1 as a starting point anyway.

Build 2 uses the 'no hub' earlier version of the EFI, Build 1 used the newer 'hubs-a-gogo' version. A huge long shot, but could that have been a possible cause of your network related boot freezes?

I've been trying to squash the size of my XP installs and disabling services to try to improve boot times, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference, just reduces memory usage.
