Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
No its coreboot, in win10 go to disk management then action then attach vhd. point it to the vhd.
Load minitool partition wizard, insert your usb stick and do a disk copy.

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Other than the obvious size , could this , would this be any faster than the actual intergal SSD with with cable , I am using ?
Yes. USB 2.0 of the SSD drive is slower than the IDE connection via the ZIF.
Load a free bee test program and see. Here are my numbers on one Joggler.

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Probably similar in write speeds. It's been a few years ago that here went to using two USB sticks for my Dockstar Debian which worked OK for a month or two at a time. After a few failures went to using SSD's and haven't had a failure in about 3 years.
Home improvement has been really slow. Age thing now a days.

Jogglerhase
The image was created with usb2.0 enabled.
After writing it to my SSD USB stick it is working OK even after 3 or 4 restarts and shutdowns

Hi Mickchip;
thanks for the feedback.
Another problem on my end again then....
After uninstalling and reinstalling VM Virtual Box (+ Extension Pack), your image shows USB2.0 for me as well....
I am in the process of copying it on the Joggler Stick - however I can probably only judge with a faster stick, if it works on my setup as well.
Thanks again - it looks really cool!

Mickchip - 1 additional question:
Does DashCommand work for you?
It does for me in the VM, but oddly not on the Joggler:
The splash video shows and than nothing. No Error - nothing.
Strange...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
It only works for me if I set the time and date on the joggler, same with squeezeplay

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Here run Tardis. Set Tardis to be a service and get the time from the GPS. I run a boot up script to sync the time and date after seeding a date/time.
@echo off
time 15:05
date 1/03/2015
net stop "Tardis time service"
PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 15000 > NUL
net start "Tardis time service"

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Hi Mickchip;
thanks for the clarification on the date/time impact to DashCommand.
I have it runnig now as well.
(Although I only get rpm reading via OBDII Bluethooth -do you know, if this is due to the fact that it is a demo version? No milesperhour aso)
Another question to this build:
I can run it w/o problems when I run it "as is".
However, if I try to enlarge the disk (via minitool partition wizard) the system hangs during boot - very similar to what I observed on the older images as well:
It stops after the 1st USBoot message...
This happend both when I runn minitool partition wizard on the Joggler or before on the Host Computer to enlarge the partition.
Do you see that as well?

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Just tried both ways and mine does exactly the same, I then wrote is as is and put another partition on the stick and that seems to work OK (when XP loads I can see the other partition), may be try rewriting the mbr from partition wizard.

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Today, finally the new USB stick arrived (thank you Hawsey for the hint to ask for a replacement!).mickchip wrote:Just tried both ways and mine does exactly the same, I then wrote is as is and put another partition on the stick and that seems to work OK (when XP loads I can see the other partition), may be try rewriting the mbr from partition wizard.
I installed your latest image Mickchip - w/o changing the partition size - and it works beautifully. Very fast: 1 minute and something to boot into iGO.
Exellent - this is the best Navi I ever had - and a good use for my long-stored backup Joggler.
Thanks again!!
Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Ordered a couple of the USB GPS's today.
Does the GPS TTS use Microsoft SAPI or built in GPS?
Want to try hands free Navigation.

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
@mickchip
Installed your latest / greatest Nav XP on an Openpeak (large with speakers) Cisco labeled device.
I have not had any issues installing on the O2 Joggler / Openpeak.
Along with the install updated realtek rom.
Did you ever give it a go on your larger Openpeak device?
Here historically never have gotten the audio to work in XP on these devices.
(well maybe once).
I can see the combo wireless card and have no issues with the drivers. For the realtek NIC getting a IRQ error.
Note running Buzz's latest Ubuntu works fine with NIC, WNIC and audio.

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Thank you hawsey.
Yes; sent Mickchip one a while ago.
Thinking Mickchip tested this build on a regular Joggler and a ZIF connected Openpeak (that looks like a Joggler).
I have been able to get audio in XP going way long time ago booting XP from a USB SSD drive. I have never been able to replicate that build though with the audio working.
Ideally though would be to fit a USB Wireless stick on the top USB port and use the internal mini PCiE port for a mini sata / sata drive controller (it would be really tight). A while back tried an mSATA drive and it wouldn't recognize it but that miniPCiE is different than an mSATA mini PCie.
The ones that I have today just running Linux on them via USB and it does well.
