Using joggler again

Post by planetf1 »

I decided to plug my o2 joggler in after an age...

What are the current decent OS options for the joggler?

I did try ubuntu on it years ago but the experience wasn't great.

Possible ideas for the joggler:
- could I use it as a Sonos controller at home (there's an android app)
- could I use it for some smarthome control via domoticz (web UI, or android app)
- could I still use as a photoframe (lightroom/facebook)
- could I use it to notify selected tweets/facebook post (screen in living room)

I have no interest in using as a media player as tv/chromecast/mobile/tablet all better ....

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Welcome back planetf1.

Best OS is Buzz's Linux.

Here have tested automation with it and it works just fine using Homeseer, OpenHab or Homegenie.

I am also running embedded XPe, W7e and W10 (trimmed to the nub) and it works fine for me as a touchscreen console (17 of them running today).

I do not have a Sonos here today and do zoned audio today with Russound. (12 sources of choice but only use maybe 4).

Photo frame is easy.

Don't facebook or tweet here (never have).
