Can anybody help me. My Joggler is just not playing ball. The UI seems quite sluggish, It just seems to be really slow to load any songs if it plays them at all. Is there any place I can check logs for it to see what its upto? If you leave inactive it seems to get worse. I have a feeling the wifi might be suspect on the device but it says its connected to my network and LMS sees it.

You might be able to see stuff in the syslog files. Could be the USB stick; too many RW's maybe; getting worn down.

All of the log files are usually kept in the /var/logs directory.

Maybe back up your SB stuff and write a new stick then copy your old stuff back to the stick?

Was the same on USB. Managed to get connected via LAN using a 5GHz bridge and its way better. So looks like the wifi in it dying as other devices on same band are all ok. Oh well shame its gone will get some powerline adaptors in instead.

Got my joggler connected via power line and its smooth as silk now and songs load quicker. So confirmed the wireless is gash on my device. Oh well it was 2nd hand and only £28 so cant really argue.

You got it sorted :-)
The Os does also come with drivers for mini wireless adapters which can either be put in place of the internal one if you open it up or in the side port .

The Joggler in my Kitchen goes off when my wife goes near it 8-), no idea why , have got a WiFi booster in there at the mo but it still happens sometimes , I might try the USB wireless things myself .
Any more wires and there will be a divorce so power lines are out for me ....

Here I just accept that my wife is RF conductive (or sinking). The automobile garage door openers never work right when she uses them but fine when I use them and we are both in the car. If she is by herself then almost never works until she is a few feet from the garage door.

Maybe just try another wireless stick inside of the Joggler? It should fit fine in the internal USB socket.

Here utilize one wireless access point in the second floor and it covers the middle floor and basement. (Ubiquiti). I have also DD-WRT'd Buffalo and Linksys routers and upped the RF output a bit and they work well in this fashion.

Hi

I am a Linux newbie. I used to have an old version of SP running but it became corrupted and I could not get it to play through the USB/DAC. So I have had to install SPOS 3.0.3 (version 1), which I managed not problem. I managed to get it to access the internet but only after forcing IPV4 but cannot access the slimverserver repository. I tried to edit the sources.list file but could not get it to work. I have tried to install LMS 7.9.0 using wget and dpkg but the installation terminates because there is insufficient space. I then deleted the lms file and tried to download and install earlier versions but they all terminate because of insifficient space. Please advise how I can either free up some space or find a smaller OS

df -H returns
joggler@openframe:~$ df -H

You will struggle to install LMS on internal memory.

However, which LMS version did you try?

You might have luck with

Bit of odd one here.

Having difficulties setting WLAN SSID & Password.

Joggler running Squeezeplay from USB - I can set & save WLAN SSID & Password no problem. It works fine.
Same Joggler running Squeezeplay from internal memory - the Touchscreen interface will not SAVE the WLAN settings at all.

I am quite happy hacking about at the command line so my question is - where is the Wireless config defined in this version of Ubuntu ?

Connect it up with an Ethernet cable first , get connection , then switch Ethernet off and set the WLAN SSID etc , that will sort it , I had the same issue , this sorted it .
