Wow....this version of android is so much better that last one.

Have only had a few hours to play with it, but have got it up and running with no major issues.

Have fiddled around with multiple different OSes on this for a while and went back to stock O2 OS + pnp when i found all to be too finger unfriendly. Was always holding out hope for an android image that would work. This looks like it might be it.

Even managed to get it streaming music off my synology NAS box using the synology apps. Good enough for initial fiddling.

Thanks everyone, will keep keen eye on this thread.

Many thanks to Mijuu for this Android build, best one I've tried so far.

I do have a problem with Wifi though, I've also had it in previous builds I've tried.

After a reboot or sometimes if the joggler goes to lockscreen the Wifi will not connect properly unless Wifi is turned 'off' and 'on' again.
Seems to get stuck obtaining IP adresses, even though router says it is connected.

Anyone else getting this ?

Minuit great work here thanks
Yes I am having the same wirelesses issues which is a shame as it's the only way I connect.Disabling Ethernet did seem to work but that was shortlived. It seems worse than the last build on this issue any ideas. Please
thanks

Thanks, that sorted it for me!

I was misreading the Ethernet configuration , "Turn off Ethernet" and a green tick. I was reading that as Ethernet was off !

So that and WiFi sleep policy set to 'never' joggler now always connects even after reboot.

Is anybody else getting the occasional hangs and 'force close' or 'wait' dialogs with the top bar icons turning green?

All,

sounds like this release has grown up and is becomming our standard build :-)

I've updated the wiki page (http://www.jogglerwiki.com/wiki/Mijuu_R ... roid_2.2.2) with feedback/comments from the thread, can people please have a look and contribute? Alindl, I've mentioned your system.img image, can you please add/contribute towards the installation of it.

:-)

I get this on some occasions. I seem to get hangs the longest when you pull down the notification bar if an app has failed to install. It can take a while, but it comes back eventually.

Also sometimes it happens when its trying to go back to the "Launcher", it usually asks you "which" launcher to use, simply select it and say "always use this..." , that sorts i out for me.

Thanks .that sorted it for me too , might be worth adding to the wiki that the" turn wireless off " you have to click on the green tick (its a bit confusing )

Hello

newbie here so please bear with me

Got every thing downloaded and running great (thanks for the wifi tip) only thing I cant get anything to download from the market. If i try to download a app from there it says "downloading unsuccessful or just hangs there saying "Downloading". As I said a newbie but any help would be grateful.

Has anyone tried running this off the internal flash? I see a "Easy_to_use_package_Internal" file on the mporting site, but I have no idea if that has anything to do with getting it running on the internal flash.

Don't worry I had the same, I cleared the cache from Google framework as per previous posts and did the clock sync thing also.
Good luck

This is a very impressive Joggler enterprise.
I'm using Alindl's modified image and these are the things which are working:
The Market works fine (after doing the service stopping business)
Seesmic for twitter
Pocket Informant
Hotquick for Hotmail
Doggcatcher for podcasts
Springpad for notes which sync to my ipad and pc
Dropbox for side loading of .apks
Guardian Anywhere
TVguide UK
Gmail syncs perfectly and my google contacts also.

My failures so far:
Titanium Pro (even after mijuus suggested procedures)
No luck trying to move apps to SD
No Radio application works properly - resco radio free gets a few bbc channels but no luck with most of them. Other radio apps simply dont install.
Cant find a way to stream music directly from my NAS (would love to get squeezeplay working as it does on the native OS).
All video is jerky.

The successes outweigh the failures and it is a wonderfully stable setup.
Congrats to all concerned.

If you use gparted on a linux pc you can resize the various partitions on the usb stick. I use an 8gb stick and have plenty of space for apps.

Beebplayer installs and works. It only gets the basic bbc channels. Don't try the market version you need an older version, let me know if you want this.

Install Gmote from the market also install the Gmote server software on your pc. On your pc add the location of your NAS to the settings and then run the app on your Joggler, it should find the server and the NAS, this method would need your pc to be on though. Also there are a few squeezebox apps on the market, do these work?

Any chance of this old version of beebplayer. This is the main issue i have at moment not being able to use this for bbc radio. I have had other radio shotcast paas working mostly AOR, but found the interface didn;t work weel and had to rely on button saviour buttons to get back to home etc, not ideal when i want this setup easy to use for whole family.

Also for streaming from my NAS box (synology) i found the synology apps work, though not really the best app, and have been using 2player which seems reasonably able.

Anyone know if a off the shelf bluetooth dongle will be supported and work. Contemplating some bluetooth speakers to enhance the audio of this device.

Yes indeed. I will post the link tonight. It's in my dropbox.

Thanks jp_hero for the info:

I do have over 1Gb free in the SD card partition and file explorer shows that it is being used by many apps (doggcatcher for instance stores podcasts there).
But if I go to System/manage apps/ and click on move an app to SD card it says "failed to move application".
I tried App2SD also without success.

Also tried beebplayer 6.0
That shows R4 as buffering but it never plays.
Look forward to your dropbox link this evening. TIA

Re streaming to my ReadyNAS. I really want not to have to have the PC on if possible. Havent found a squeezeplayer that works.

I'm using mybackup root rather than titanium and it seems to work well. I'm also using 2player for streaming music via. upnp from my nas seems to work well. The video needs some proper development which is beyond me at the moment :)
