Hi,
Can anyone take 5 minutes to give me a quick basic summary of how I 'do' telnet etc.
I read a lot of posts about advice to fire in commands and 'SSH' and run things but I'm at a loss as to how it's done.
I'm not computer illiterate at all but Linux and Joggler access is new to me.
Thanks in advance!
Telnet, SSH, How to guide?
Re: Telnet, SSH, How to guide?
You need to make sure your Joggler is enabled for telnet. PMJ (pimp my joggler) http://www.joggler.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=842 or plug'n'pimp http://www.joggler.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1155 will do this for you. Download a program to your PC called Putty http://www.putty.org/ & open it. Type in your Joggler's IP address (you can find it under settings > network), click the Telnet button in Putty & hit Enter. This brings up a DOS-like screen. The password is letmein and you can then copy & paste commands to the Joggler.
SSH is just a more secure version of Telnet. Putty will also do this, the username is letmeinssh and password is joggler1234.

Excellent, thanks for taking the time to reply. Plug n pimp has been doing it automatically, putty is the missing link for me to try out manually!
Will try it soon.
