PlayIt joggler to gaming console conversion script

Post by pipposanta »

The first version of the PlayIt script is finally here! Yes this time it will be a script... for the precision an installer script, which will install a series of games and emulators on your system to make it more console like.

Download PlayIt:
0.3 -> http://www.mediafire.com/file/3i8aco417 ... yIt-0.3.sh
Features:
mupen64plus (nintendo 64)
stella (atari 2600)
epsxe (psx)
minecraft

How to use the script:
first, give it executing permission with a terminal:
chmod +x path/to/the/script.sh
or right clicking choosing properties, permissions and finally allow executing of the file as a program.
then open a terminal, 'cd' to the directory of the script and do 'sudo ./PlayIt.sh' and then enter.

The new version of TouchOS is being developed and will be named PlayIt.
It will be focused on playing the games of emulator such as Atari 2600, Nintendo 64, PSX, etc, etc.
It will also have an interface to control everything via joypad or touchscreen (eg. xbmc)

Post here emulators and features (related to gaming) you want to see in PayIt when it will be released.

Is this run in linux from a stick or does it run O2 native?

I'm giving it some thought with regard to emulators. Will post later with a list of what I'd like.

It will run from an ubuntu 10.10 installation.

I don't think I will need host space as they are only few KBs bash scripts.

I'm sorry I don't have a more comprehensive knowledge of games emulators on Linux. I do use Linux but very rarely play games on my computer.

Below is a list of the kind of emulators I use on my DS and the Wii:

Scumm VM
NES
SNES
Sega Megadrive/Genesis emulator
Turbo Grafix 16 / PC Engine
Sega Master System
Nintendo 64
Gameboy Advance / Gameboy
Neo Geo arcade game emulator

I've had a busy week and haven't had time to try your script yet, but I'll return to the forum with feedback when I do. Thanks for helping to spice up the Joggler.
