Ivee Sleek

Ivee Sleek

Post by roger l »

Just bought an Ivee Sleek second hand. (The digital alarm clock looking device)
Since it's launch as a Kickstarter project, reviews have been poor. People have got fed up of it's voice activation being unreliable.
It is meant to be a digital voice activated assistant that can operate wifi connected devices.
There is a very limited response to hacking it to get more functionality.

The official Help and support seems to have become dormant. It appears you cannot register a new user account after the first user.

Has anyone come across this baby joggler looking device?

Yes, but mostly remedy and fault finding unfortunately. After reading all of the bad reviews it appears mostly all of its faults are server side. Digging deeper in the reviews it looks like they have generated some hatred for the unresponsive support service.
Have tried using with Philips Hue, but it stops short of authenticating the Bridge. If it fails to connect to the other devices it is obviously then a stupid talking alarm. It may be possible to reflash a new/better os onto it.
Currently it can tell you the date, time, weather if in USA, Stocks, "something interesting/Funny/Scary" and other impractical bits. It can obey instructions to turn the radio on to a specified frequency and adjust volume and Clock brightness. It can allegedly operate Philips Hue Lights through a Bridge, Operate WEMO devices and switches, activate smarthomes devices/Lutron etc. It answers me that my Philips bridge is not authenticated. The wake up alarms have a variety of sounds. If it completely fails, I may open up it's little carcass.
