Once youve got your settings sorted you need to start the bridge again to use them

You need to refine the Jongo settings.

Give me 15 mins. or so, & we can continue.

Meanwhile to prepare for the settings, you need to stop the bridge. Uncheck and Apply.

Keep the settings page open.

In settings page - bridge NOT running

below the full line across the page

there's a dropdown - default settings

click and select the Jongo - page will refresh and show the empty Jongo settings

-----------------------------------------------------------

Enter the following - some text, others by dropdown

Name - whatever you like

HTTP mode - fixed large size

Streaming timeout - 600

Directory - ?

Supported codecs - aac,pcm,mp3 [notice no spaces]

Max sample rate - 48000

Uncompressed format - wav,aiff [ no spaces ]

Player is enabled - yes

Send LMS metadate - yes

Send ICY metadata - no

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you have the settings you need to hit Apply

Now check start bridge - Apply

----------------------------------------------------------------

That's it - the bridge will run unless you switch it off

Whenever the Jongo is ON, it will appear (after a few seconds) as a player. You can select it in LMS and play whatever you have on LMS

-----------------------------------------------

No need to mess with settings from now on (unless there's a specific reason to do so)

Just check under settings that the bridge is running.

If so, then switch off the Jongo - wait a minute or so, switch on. Wait a couple of minutes - it should appear in the lms player dropdown listing. You may need to refresh the lms gui page.

Be interested to hear your thoughts on them a couple of days in. So far my view is they're better if they're plugged in to the mains, seem to work better if you control their on / off state through LMS rather than with the power button for me too.

Excellent! Do you want to play flac ? There's some extra to do, if yes.

Got a vote - last one as my right to vote runs out next year.

Not so sure about expat votes here in Spain - many here moan about 'immigrants' without realising they themselves are immigrants! Most don't have any idea that they live here as a right as an EU citizen (not as a Brit). If we leave they (and I) will have the same rights as an Albanian, or a Turk, or a Egyptian, etc.

My quick reply. V.good to just less than excellent given their size. I like the battery function (haven't noticed a difference between mains/battery)

Overall the sound quality is just less than Sonos Play1 - which can be much improved because it has a basic equaliser feature.

In terms of size, sound and battery I agree - great piece of kit. I think if I could manage to get resume on power on working I'd be happy. Proper sync would be a bonus too but I think I'll only get that if I build a squeezelite Bluetooth transmitter rather than use upnpbridge.

Try max2play - that has a module to enable bluetooth speakers . A helluva a lot easier than doing it yourself, which I did a couple of years ago (and almost went mad in the process!)

Enable FLAC playback
--------------------------

This worked for me - YMMV

---------------------------------

1. Go to upnpbridge settings (Settings - Advanced)

Switch off bridge - Apply

Select Jongo config in dropdown
-------------------------------------------

Edit as follows:

Change supported codecs to - aac,flc,pcm,mp3

Max sample rate - 96000

FLAC header - normal
--------------------------------------

Hit Apply

Leave settings page open

--------------------------------------

Go to WinSCP - login to joggler as root

Go to

/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs

edit upnpbridge.xml

--------------------------------

Find the section in upnpbridge.xml which has something like

<device>
<stream_length>1000000000</stream_length>
<codecs>aac,flc,pcm,mp3</codecs>
<name>Jongo A</name>

The important point is that you locate the device with your Jongo name

Insert a new line after the <name>Jongo A</name> line

which is

<allow_flac>1</allow_flac>

Save the file

---------------------------------------------------------

Exit winSCP

Go back to the bridge settings page

Hit Apply

Check to start upnpbridge

Hit apply

---------------------------------------

Probably worth doing a reboot - once Jongo is available as player, select as your player. Flacs should play.

---------------------------------------

Be sure to specify flc in the codecs NOT flac

It works for me, but crystalguy has had no luck.

Ended up falling out with all attempts to get sync to work wirelessly. In the end I've got a Pi Zero + USB soundcard plugged into the USB socket on the back of the Jongo booting piCoreplayer. Boots up and starts playing in about 30 seconds and seems to have a pretty decent run time from battery. Need to find a decent enclosure for everything now though!

Nice one , did you get a white one ?
What are the benefits of this over the S3 ?
I quite fancied the A2 Hi Fi adapter for my AMP , they seem very cheap .
