Openpeak Openframe 7 Telco Hub DECT use mods

Discussion for non Joggler hardware / software including software for devices that share similarities with the O2 Joggler Hardware. This section has been opened for discussion of things like the settings up the EMGD drivers on other hardware using Ubuntu, as discussion of this has been banned at the official Ubuntu Forums.

Great news. I can't keep up with such great news; almost too fast for me. Note that my hair is more grey that tschak.

I do not see the pictures. Maybe just links to the pictures might work?

Thank you for the explaination there tschak.

I will be installing your application and will give it a try in the next few days.

That said I would like to post the use of Joggler / Openpeak with your application here on the forum in a step by step for the rest of the forum users as most here are really into playing with the Joggler.

It appears by looking that I have no telephony stuff on my Openpeak 2.

I did try to get it and cannot download the firmware:

# Try to get an update for this device
cd /updates
wget http://applog.openpeak.net/firmware/app-`cat /etc/ethermac`.tgz

# if tango has exited more than 10 times,
# try to run a stable version with telephony
mv /openpeak/tango/class_modules /openpeak/tango/cm_bak
mkdir /openpeak/tango/class_modules
cp /openpeak/tango/cm_bak/libApplicationManager.so /openpeak/tango/class_modules
cp /openpeak/tango/cm_bak/libOPUtil.so /openpeak/tango/class_modules
cp /openpeak/tango/cm_bak/libffplay.so /openpeak/tango/class_modules
cp /openpeak/tango/cm_bak/libScreensaver.so /openpeak/tango/class_modules
cp /openpeak/tango/cm_bak/libVOIP.so /openpeak/tango/class_modules
cp /openpeak/tango/cm_bak/libLocalAddressBook.so /openpeak/tango/class_modules
cp /openpeak/gui/config.xml /openpeak/gui/config.xml.recover
cp /openpeak/gui/config.xml.stable /openpeak/gui/config.xml
try=1
while [ $try -le 10 ]; do
echo Starting tango $try ...
./tango /openpeak/gui/opphone.swf > /dev/null 2>&1
try=`expr $try + 1`
sleep 2
done

hawsey,

Did you back up your partition before installing PnPIII on it?

I can watch it doing this by running dmsg in an SSH session.

Playing some see:

# ./EEPROMReadHWInfo
Hardware Info = 8047-03

playing a bit more:

Usage: ResetConfig <Client>
Where <Client> must be one of the following:
openpeak o2 telefonica telefonicaflash verizon cox avaya thomson telstra telio openpeaksdk swisscomflash comed openpeakdemo_energy
# ./ResetConfig openpeaksdk
Checking customer configuration
Device Configured for <openpeaksdk>
Initializing NVRAM
Reseting Hardware Clock
./ResetConfig: line 205: RTCReset: not found
Erasing sum1...
Syncing

Configuration reset successfully
#

# ./EEPROMReadHWInfo
Hardware Info = 8054-21

Dear Pete_c,

you can tell me how, where did you get those ifnormações above?

you opened a file in text editor, a file extension ".cfg"?

I would greatly appreciate receive a copy of that file. Maybe that's what I need.

Best to utilize one of Buzz's Ubuntu builds booting it from the USB port.

You can open any file with plan text in it utilizing available linux text editors or readers. If you prefer to utilize windows you can do the same SSHing to the device using WinSCP and just highlighting and opening the text file. Here I sometimes do both at the same time depending on what it is I am doing. IE: I will have a ssh cmd line opened, winscp opened, Linux gui and linux terminal session open using a keyboard and mouse connected to the Openframe device.

I am older and my eyes are OK but not that good such that I do like to utilize a larger LCD to view the gui and or the SSH command line stuff.

Then

1 - mount the Openpeak partitions on the telco hub. There is 2 Gb of space on these devices. Be carefull though because the boot flash is soldered in place. If you trash the EFI boot flash you will have issues. I have already played and rewritten the boot flash with no issues.
2 - once running Ubuntu back up the 2Gb partition using DD such that you can restore it.
3 - you can just also write the partitions over to a USB stick and play with the OS outside of the box.

Thinking the original stuff actually just downloaded the configurations dynamically.

So then if you already have them on the Opeframe 7 then you can look at them uninvasively.

I am starting to "play" with a new product which will be occupying some of my time. Check it out here at:
Its a neat little gizmo "do what" in a small package. It would be nice to create a Joggler interface to said new combo controller. It is using purely wireless technology; IE: Zigbee, Z-Wave and talk about Insteon and the new wireless gizmos (wireless LED light bulb for example).

Pete_C esteemed users and all members,

can someone tell me how to find the "PIN code" device "Openframe 7" (Orby in Brazil).

this code Telephone Company would send to the User when the User do register online, but this service does not exist anymore.

sorry to bother again. Hugs to everyone.

For a little bit bit I did play some with the Openpeak DECT phones.

I do have one paired up with my combo VOIP, Bluetooth, router VOIP box and its a bit limited in functionality; but it does work.

A couple were locked with their pins. After spending some time playing and being somewhat impatient I just guessed without much looking at all.

Here the default for the Verizon and Openpeak DECT phones that I got was "0000" for me I guess unconfigured though.

The Openpeak Openframe 2.0 manual states that the PIN number is the last 4 digits of your Openframe phone number followed by the pound sign (#)
