There is a story here.

We were just sitting down to dinner and I was looking outside our kitchen windows and saw the moon rising. That said I grabbed the tripod and mounted the camera on it. WAF was a bit low. My wife was wondering why the fuss right at the beginning of dinner. I had tried maybe 1-2 months ago to take similiar pictures without the tripod and with the zoom and really couldn't hold the camera steady enough. Here are the settings I used to take the pictures and the pictures that I took. I set the camera right outside of the kitchen door and kept looking (interupting dinner a bit) as the moon rise kept going behind the clouds which made for some neat effects.

1 - ISO 100-200
2 - F/8 to F/16
3 - Speed at 1, 2, and 3 seconds.
4 - 200-500mm (optical zoom)

Cold outside at 29.7 F and -1.28 C.
