Integrated digital amp?

Spurred on by Squeezeplayer on the Joggler, I splashed out on a Logitech Squeezebox Duet. My very elderly Denon amp has only analogue inputs (which I can still use with the Squeezebox). I was tempted to upgrade to a digital amplifier to make use of the SPDIF output on the Squeezebox. Can anyone recommend a good, basic amp for under 200-250 quid? Is there likely to be a noticeable improvement in the sound quality? I have reasonably good Mission speakers.
