Hi Regor,
Rather than start a new topic, it might be a good idea to put this under the 'Squeezebox Server issues' topic. People with an answer to your question are more likely to be reading those posts.

Re: Best USB stick for Joggler?
I forgot to mention that the Seagate hard drive worked very well and faster than the stick for Ubuntu Netbook Remix (back in the day when I used it).

Re: Best USB stick for Joggler?
It depends what hard drive you're using. I've got a Sumvision 120gb hard drive that will power up but before the disk is available the Joggler is past the part of its boot cycle where it can boot from the device. I've also got a Seagate 250gb drive that does boot up but, despite my initial enthusias...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
I have 5 USB sound cards, one of which is identical to the one you have linked to. I find it plays music in Squeezeplay too fast. Everyone is on the verge of sounding like a Disney Chipmonk! Do you have that problem with yours? I don't have the speedy sound problem you've mentioned. I have encounte...

Re: Best USB stick for Joggler?
Another option is running it from a USB portable hard drive. I've done this before. Needless to say it is pretty fast. If you are using the Win32 disk image program to write to a hard drive, you need to use the following USB stick swap trick: Insert a 4gb USB stick (yes I know we'll be writing to a ...

Re: Spotify on Squeezeplay on Jolicloud
Hi Michael, If dropouts are getting annoying in Spotify you might be able to get better streaming by dropping the bitrate. Premium subscribers get a better quality stream but you can lower this on the Spotify plugin advanced settings. The sound quality at the lower bitrate is still pretty good becau...

Re: Spotify on Squeezeplay on Jolicloud
You're correct, the green Spotify icon is the official Spotify app, the orange one is the Triode plugin. I uninstalled the official app and only use the Triode one. I've not had any dropouts yet but I have a pretty good broadband connection and have never used it for more than about 4 or 5 hours (fo...

Re: Spotify on Squeezeplay on Jolicloud
I'm really pleased you've got both Spotify and the BBC streams working now. They are almost exclusively what I use the Joggler for nowadays.

Re: Spotify on Squeezeplay on Jolicloud
The BBC iPlayer plugin also works for me (as well as the iPlayer extras). You have the choice of live streams or listen again options. It was the only way I could get the BBC streams to work. I think the BBC app from the App Gallery tries to play WMA streams which fail for me. If you go to the 'Adva...

Re: Spotify on Squeezeplay on Jolicloud
I think the problem is that you need to use the 'Triode 3rd Party Spotify plugin', not the official Spotify release. Install Squeezebox Server from their website (it should be a deb package; Ubuntu will install this but I don't know about Jolicloud). After installing SB Server, open a browser and ty...

Re: Linux Mint for the O2 Joggler
I use Linux Mint on my PC but I have concentrated on the Ubuntu image on the Joggler because that's what most of the forum posts relate to. I'm all for choice and it's great to have a Mint distro, but if hardly anyone is using it maybe your time could be better spent. Another alternative would be to...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
My kitchen Joggler isn't hooked to a sound system as such. I have a 4 port USB hub with the sound card in it, a wireless mouse receiver and a small USB powered speaker exactly like this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Boynq-Saturn-USB-PC-Speaker/dp/B00114UTEG Not exactly hi-fi but much better than the ...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
You really should try the USB sound out. It's great! I bought a second Joggler to hitch to my hi-fi for Squeezeplay and can now play my Spotify playlists with great sound (premium account users only for the Spotify plugin). I had a "eureka" moment earlier this evening and have fixed my pro...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
Is anybody having problems with USB sound on the new images? After applying the two suggested tweaks for USB audio output (creating the etc/asound.conf file mentioned in this thread and commenting out the PulseAudio line in /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf - mentioned on the download page) I was able to g...

Re: PlayIt joggler to gaming console conversion script
I'm sorry I don't have a more comprehensive knowledge of games emulators on Linux. I do use Linux but very rarely play games on my computer. Below is a list of the kind of emulators I use on my DS and the Wii: Scumm VM NES SNES Sega Megadrive/Genesis emulator Turbo Grafix 16 / PC Engine Sega Master ...

Re: Dead Joggler
I've just received, this very day, a replacement Joggler because a previous one suffered the same problem. It was sent away "for repair" but I got a replacement unit in return. The Joggler that died was second-hand and it is a lesson in how important it is to get a proof of purchase when y...

Re: tutorials section?
Will there be a migration of any information from the old Joggler forum or will that information be archived anywhere? There's a lot of good stuff on there that might be lost if the site goes down (I'm thinking of such nuggets as how to restore original images to a bricked Joggler). If you need any ...

Re: Plug'n'Pimp - Opera, Squeezplay, ...easy way
It's working fine for me. I can only suggest uninstalling the server and re-installing, but maybe you have. Other than that, I don't know.
Can't you use SCP to download the files, unzip them locally and then copy the unzipped files to the correct location?

Re: Plug'n'Pimp - Opera, Squeezplay, ...easy way
After a Reboot squeezebox Server started but I was unable to install Plugins But other features do function :) Keep trying. I had to do it a few times before the plugins were recognised. You have to choose to install the plugin, when installed select it to activate it, then apply to re-start the se...
