Re: SqueezeBox Server Issues
No response from Christian just yet... I hope Christian doesn't mind me speaking for him, but he's a bit busy with other commitments at the moment, so a little patience will be required before there are more tweaks to P'n'P. In the meantime, I'm guessing that it should be fairly simple to delay sta...

Re: Squeezeplay via NAS?
Ah, I think I just replied to you on my site.
There are some NAS devices that come with Squeezebox Server preinstalled (or are at least compatible). You might want to check the Squeezebox forums or the SBS wikipedia page if you're in the market for new hardware. They should be clued up.

Not used the script myself (yet!), but I guess it makes sense to point it at something.

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
I'm having a problem now were the icon at the top for the keyboard and wifi, shutdown reboot ETC, have vanished, I have re-softwared the pen drive now several times and rendomly they just disappear and never come back. I have noticed on boot up a few times messages saying certain files are missing ...

Re: USB Partition
I may sound dumb, but i am very new to all this, how do i run that script, i copied it and pasted it into terminal but terminal just closes ? You need to download the script and save it as a file, then give it permissions that say it can run. One way to do it is like this, on the command line, one ...

Re: Best USB stick for Joggler?
good to know the joggler can power some hds, I had read it couldnt somewhere but never tested. Somehow the Joggler managed to get a bad press when it comes to powering USB devices, which I'm not sure is deserved. In my experience they power devices just as well as my iMac does; the one sitting next...

A Bit of Reorganisation
I've had a dive into the wiki and started by reorganising things a little bit. I didn't feel the 'big list' front page was particularly friendly, and combined with the older (but still potentially useful) content it was making the whole thing a bit off-putting. Areas of the wiki are now split into s...

Righto. Ignore my comment on the apt-get issue - it looks like it was something network related. Either way, it's cleared itself up by magic now.

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
BuZz, have I found a bug here? When running apt-get update I'm getting a lot of errors like this: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/maverick/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'archive.ubuntu.com:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname) Tried a few different...

I've given both a try now; the compressed one is indeed a lot quicker than before, but even the normal btrfs version seems faster.BuZz wrote:using the compressed btrfs one or ?roobarb! wrote:I don't know how you've done it, BuZz, but this new image goes like a rocket.BuZz wrote:New image released (v1.7)

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
New update out, running SqueezePlay 7.6.0-9349. Now with control over display and backlight settings!* These applets were inspired by gforum's work, although on this version the options appear under Settings > Screen. Enjoy!
* Backlight settings only on Native at the moment. Working on Ubuntu.

Re: Dead Joggler
I had the above happening to me, and used a working efi boot chip from a friend and booted my 'dead' joggler with that. After that, I was able to reflash the original OS (as it would boot from USB again) and that was it, all working again. Efi chip has been returned and mine now seems to work as we...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
Bit of an odd one here, BuZz - I've got a Joggler that won't accept the MAC address given to it by your startup script. The /etc/network/joggler-eth file has one MAC address (00:92:08:ca:6a:f4), but the one reported by ifconfig is completely different (da:be:df:2e:36:98). If I issue: ip link set et...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.
Has anyone managed to get Squeezeplay to play sound through any kind of USB sound card with the latest build of this software. I can get all other media software to use my USB sound card except Squeezeplay. Yes, it's just that SqueezePlay is a bit finicky about it's audio settings. The easiest way ...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
do you run ext4 with the journal? and do you use microsd or a usb stick ? Yes, it's running ext4 with journalling on a MicroSD card - a very cheap MicroSD card at that! They don't last forever though, and I guess this also re-inforces the reason to treat the internal flash with care too (or not usi...
